"We just hired A.B. May to address all of SPIRE Gas Company requirements to have a recent rental purchase approved to be rented. Mr. Rick Thein promptly called me with estimates for repairs, permits, and safety checks needed to do this process. He was profession, efficient, courteous, and prompt. He was able to start the process of fixing our rental regarding gas plumbing right away and gave us a fair price. The work will be completed this week and I expect it will be well done given the experience we have had thus far."

"The crew at Polestar did inspections for me when purchasing. They did a full mechanical inspection finding things the other inspector missed saving me thousands in future repairs. It would have been a nightmare. Naturally when I went to sell and the prosepective buyers found a collapsed sewer line I called Polestar again to give me an estimate. They were significantly more price effective than my other bids. They did an excellent job and even communicated with the new buyers putting their minds at ease. The quality work they performed was above and beyond and they stood behind it in writing, which made everyone comfortable. Would give six stars if I could. I am a customer for life."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Fontana, KS

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
