"We had a great experience with aqueduct. We were able to get them out on short notice to fix a pipe that had burst on Christmas Eve. We had such a positive experience that we had Clayton come out again and redo that entire section of piping (cpvc to PEX). It ended up being a pretty extensive job but he knocked it out within a day and even added some additional insulation to help avoid from future freeze ups. One additional thing: being able to book Clayton online for a specific time window was so helpful. we didn't want to bother with calling folks on Christmas, so his website made it easy to book a time slot without having to wait around to call and then wait to potentially get a response, being able to book online helped us avoid all of that! Thanks Clayton!"

Customers say: Quality work

"Rob O'Donnell came in clutch for us when we found ourselves in a pinch doing a job out of our normal service area for a customer who had water damage to their home. It was after 4:00pm on a Friday afternoon and we needed to find someone to disconnect a gas stove so we could finish installation on Saturday. Needless to say, we were having trouble finding anyone who could help us out with such short notice. After leaving a message with O'Donnell's Plumbing we got a call shortly thereafter from Rob, who was willing to go out on Saturday morning to disconnect the gas line for us before another job he already had scheduled for the day. He also returned very promptly to get everything hooked back up. -- furthermore he was able to send an invoice by email and we were able to pay electronically! Very convenient and also eliminated the need to bother with mailing a check. -- Highly recommend O'Donnell's Plumbing!"

Small jobs welcome

"I hired a plumber through HomeAdvisor using prepay but I would not recommend this service. The contractor left a leaky pipe that caused water coming up through carpet. I had to purchase a wet vacuum to dry out the carpet. I had to contact HomeAdvisor again and hired Dave the Plumber, LLC who had to redo the installation done previously. Dave the Plumber replaced all the piping and outside spigot because of a water leak the previous contractor left. Thank you Dave the Plumber for being a professional and a job well done."

"Excellent service by MarKool. First it is a small company so when you call them you talk directly to the person doing the work. Second they are highly responsive. Third at the home they are very personable and answer all questions in detail. Fourth In fixing my problem they showed they are highly skilled and experienced in HVAC in this case as it pertains to gas furnace operation."

"Perfectly! I was delighted again with the professionalism brought to the job (Ryan did the service today). He arrived right on time and got the job done very quickly. He kept the work area clear of debris and made sure to take away all trash when he finished up. I definitely will be using them again if I need any plumbing work!"

"It went very well.  We had agreed on a service date and Brandon called the day before to tell me he had an opening and could do the work early.  The guys did an excellent job connecting into our existing gas line, and installing the cooktop.  Very professional.  Even Brandon came by to ensure everything was done properly and to our satisfaction. <br />"

"The work done was super. They had problems getting the inspector out, but it was WSSC having the problem, not RL Voight & Co. They also installed the gas dryer, since a gas fitter is required to install a gas dryer. We are really happy with the new set up."

"I contacted Stang Plumbing to give me an estimate on replacing the copper water supply piping (hot and cold) in my house with PEX A. Stang gave me a reasonable estimate right from the start. The two other estimates I requested further confirmed that Stang’s estimate was very reasonable and after they promptly responded to several questions I had concerning their proposal, I chose them to do the work. The workers showed up promptly on the first day to start the work and every day thereafter. The lead plumber, Rob, did a great job of communicating the progress at the end of the day and what he intended to accomplish the next day. Each day Rob made sure that water service was restored through out the house and that there were no leaks from the work that had been performed. The piping replacement was completed on the schedule originally proposed. Rob, and his helper Mark, were very professional and courteous and a pleasure to deal with. I will happily chose Stang Plumbing for any future work and highly recommend them for any plumbing services you may need."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Frederick, MD

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
