"This guy was amazing. First off, he communicated with us daily the entire job and more importantly, he was on the jobsite everyday! It was unbelievable the amount of knowledge he has on brick block and stone construction and the quality of the work Was absolutely stunning..... The only thing I can say is that, This guy is a slick brick/block/stone Mason. "It was excellent work---however, the weather did not cooperate. It was raining and very cold. Not only did Mr. Ellison call----but he came back out to the house and explained to my husband why the delay. Now how many professional workmen would drive several miles in person to explain the delay. Finally, the weather cooperated and Mr. Ellison was prompt in arriving to do the masonry repair work. He arrived each day at the time he told me he would arrive, he was extremely polite and professional in his behavior, and he cleaned up the area each day before he left. Mr. Ellison was training a young man---who also was very polite. We were so pleased with the brick work, that we asked Mr. Ellison to build us a stone mailbox. He suggested that we put a solar light on top and now we have a cheerful light to welcome us home each night. "I called Model Construction and left a message for the owner, Kent, to call me.  That afternoon he promptly called and scheduled a time to come by and submit an estimate.  While I was at work, the day scheduled for the estimate, Kent stopped by and quickly e-mailed an estimate.  After deciding the estimate was fair I e-mailed a response and told Kent to go ahead and schedule the job.  He  gave me a two day window with the dates he would have his crew available to do the job.  He asked for a deposit with an agreement to pay the rest at time of completion.  I asked Kent to meet with me and I would give him the deposit in person.  He had no problem doing that and we met, signed the paperwork and I gave him a check.  I left for work the next day and while I was away Kent had his crew install the new roof.  When I arrived home that afternoon the only evidence that anyone had been there was my new roof.  Very good job matching shingles and cleaning up after the job.  Less than a week later we had major rain showers and there were no signs of any leaks.

"The project went very well.   Blake Grantham (owner) was very diligent throughout the project.  His dedication to keeping us informed for every step in the project, and his presence on site, ensured we had good communication for managing details.   As in any sizeable project, solutions to challenges involve choices.   The clear communications enabled us to quickly resolve each issue and to maintain continuous progress efficiently and effectively.   For example:  The location of drainage under the driveway needed to be established early in the project to be sure water from gutters would be well managed after the driveway was installed.   Another example:  trenching for electrical conduit required to enable later landscape lighting and electricity supply to the dock needed to be prepared, conduits layed, and electrical permit inspections completed before paving proceeded.   Due to our open communication, Blake was able to maintain project pace while ensuring the necessary steps were completed for a well executed project.   Another example:  The motor home has specific wheelbase and clearance measurements.  The slope of the driveway needed to be very critically managed to ensure the motor home would not drag its ends or its belly as it moves from the roadway to the garage.    Although we hoped to complete the project in an extremely short schedule, rain conspired to cause delay.   Nevertheless, we were very impressed with the achieved schedule and the quality of the work.   Blake tried to stay within the budget, but we made changes that required extra work.   Nevertheless, he remained faithful to the overall budget limits we established, managed each modification fairly and left us satisfied that he had treated us honestly with respect to price.    Pictures of the project have been taken, and if I can figure out how to post them, I'll do so later.

"Our stone walk way is on a very steep hill.  Ab and his team worked carefully to get the 200-300 pound stones down the hill to the path site with minimal disturbance to the yard and grass.  He suggested a certain type of stone that would provide long-term durability and stability for the walk to the lake and added pleasing curves so that the steps looked more inviting than a cold stairway.  He was careful to plant grass along the sides of the pathway where the construction disturbed the grass already in place.  While the weather was extremely hot, he and his team worked every day until the project was completed, about 3 days.  They showed up when expected and communicated their plans for the next day at the end of each day.  There were no surprises.  We ended up with some extra materials (stones) and he added extra steps at the side of the house even though that wasn't part of the original design.  There was no additional cost for this work."
