"We talked to four companies about our need to replace our front entry door and the door between our house and garage. Pittsburgh Window & Door had by far the lowest price for name-brand product. Tom, the owner, spec'd and quoted the job, and he also came out to work on the installation. Their quote was about half that of their competition, even quoting the same doors from the same manufacturer. They called a day ahead of time to confirm the installation appointment, and they showed up on time. The installation went great and they cleaned up after themselves. We're very happy with our new doors, and with the entire experience."

"I have a four story house so they had to get up on 50 foot ladders to clean the windows. Not many window cleaning companies will do that. 3 guys came out and they cleaned roughly 20 windows I think. It was super!"

"Dave redid the exterior of my fire place. He came up with the design and installed tile around the fireplace and a new mantel. The fire place came out great. He had done some repair work for me previously and during that time he came up with the fireplace design. He was prompt, professional and very neat. I highly recommend Dave and plan to use him in the future"

"Had David over to do some home improvements done. I need a Ring doorbell installed and also needed a ceiling fan replaced in my Florida room. David also repaired/replaced sensors in my garage as they had went bad. I was very satisfied w/ the work he has done thus far. This is the second time I have used David for home repairs. He's a good man...honorable, prompt and efficient; all traits that aren't easy to find in the Home Repair Industry. My dogs even love David and get so excited when he's here. Would recommend DHI to family and friends for sure."

"Kenny was absolutely perfect. A+ Great communication and arrived exactly on time. He and his crew were extremely professional, competent and service levels that are rare to see these days. They installed 19 sashes and when there was a problem with the order (not their fault, they weren't involved with the order) , Kenny took the initiative to resolve it with Andersen for us. I would recommend Clearview to everyone and plan to do so when anyone asks me about windows."

"Best window cleaners ever!  They explained to me that they have a wax additive to their solution which keeps your windows cleaner longer.  It has been 6 weeks now and our windows still look just cleaned.  Three windows next to our front door seemed to have a film to them that no other window washer has been able to do anything about.  I even tried a special cleaning product myself and it did not work so I assumed it was a problem with the 40 year old  glass.  It is now gone!  Our screens that they scrubbed had not a speck of dust or dirt.  These young men are passionate about what they do and foremost want to do an excellent job and not "get in, get out".  They are extremely personable if you care to know your window washer.  I previoulsy used another A rated provider on Angies list with hundreds of reviews, and they did a good job, but no better than anyone else.  The solution Wojcik uses makes all the difference.  Windows look like new,  Their price is extremely reasonable.  We have a steeply pitched roof with incline windows on the wall which is actually roof.  Other cleaners price these much higher as skylights even though you can easily reach out and touch them inside just like any other window on a regular wall.  They are just at a slant.  Wojcik priced these as windows not skylights which is as it should be.  They are not in the ceiling!  I will continue to use them every time and highly recommend them. <br />"

"Mark was great! I contacted him after seeing positive reviews on various other social media. He was professional on the phone, and the price ranges he quoted and the timeframes he estimated were far more reasonable than two other local business and two big box stores I contacted. He came later the same week to see where I wanted the door installed, take measurements, and confirm his final estimated price (which matched what he first quoted me). My door only took a week to manufacture and be delivered, despite it being an unusual size (36" x 74", which is about 6" shorter than a standard door--and it's a perfect fit, incidentally). Mark was in regular contact throughout the process, and double-checked with me on any important decision (door design, screen type, push bar height, handle fixtures, etc.). He contacted me as soon as the door arrived, and it was installed and ready for me to enjoy less than a week later. The whole process, from the day I first called Mark to final installation, took less than three weeks, including the special order door manufacture and delivery. I'm very appreciative of Mark's work and would highly recommend him to anyone looking to support a local business with expertise in screen doors and windows."

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Gibsonia, PA

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
