"I made an appointment for this company to come out on a Friday to install a disposal/button switch that I had already purchased.  The plumber was punctual and very nice.  I asked him to give me an estimate, which he did - $239.  Since this was a labor-only job, and I knew from previous experience that it should take about an hour or so, I asked him how he came up with an estimate of $239.  He immediately copped an attitude and stated that "in this area" the going rate was $175 an hour.  (Translation:  You live in an affluent area so we are going to overcharge you.)  I told him that seemed a bit high, and asked if he would do the job for $200.  He stated that they don't normally dicker with customers on an estimate, but that he would do it for $200.  He completed the job in about an hour, and the work was fine.  The reason Boden Plumbing is getting a "B" instead of an "A" is because they tried to overcharge, and because the technician got an attitude with me."
