"Mauricio and Crisjan were the initial sales reps who came to examine the issue and they took the time to test drainage that might have potentially been creating the water issue. They offered a reasonable solution (sealing the visible cracks and holes in the concrete and I was contacted within a couple of days with an estimate and scheduling options. Sean was our tech and he did a fantastic job diagnosing the issue beyond just the cracks. He not only address all the holes and cracks in the concrete and mortar, he sealed up additional entry points above the foundation. He sourced additional materials to cover openings for cable lines. He went above and beyond and gave us measured information on how we should continue to monitor and treat this area as the house settles. He was thorough, informative, and provided excellent service in his work. I'm very glad that Sean was the technician sent to us and I would specifically request him for your projects."

"Every person I dealt with at this company was polite and professional. Basement leaking is stressful and BWN was responsive, prompt and easy to work with. The work looks sloppy in some places, however, and my basement was left a bit of a mess. I have a radiator in the basement along the wall we were having waterproofed. The person who did our estimate saw that radiator, however when the team arrived to do the work they seemed surprised to see it and there was no plan on how to deal with it. They managed a solution, but the area looks messy and there are places where there is no concrete present at all anymore. I am going with an A overall rating for now because I do think overall it was a positive experience. Waiting to see how it goes when we get some rain."

"Very professional! The two people that did the concrete raising were very helpful. Big shout out to Brian and Austin out of the Bristow location. Pricy, but foundation work is sometimes unavoidable."

FAQs for concrete foundation raise projects in Glenn Dale, MD

On average, it takes two to seven days to physically raise your house. However, this does not include the preparation work, which is often the most lengthy process. The entire project, including preparation, obtaining permits, disconnecting utilities, and any subsequent landscaping, can take four to eight weeks. This timeline ensures everything is done safely and that your home remains structurally sound.

If proper safety protocols are not followed, raising a house can cause severe damage, as the process involves applying controlled force to the home's structure. The risks involved make it crucial to hire a skilled contractor who uses engineered methods to secure your home and prevent any harm to your household.

If your foundation shows signs of instability after raising your home, you might need to add structural support. A structural engineer can assess your foundation and recommend reinforcements to ensure your house stays stable and safe for the long term. Available support options include installing additional piers or pilings, reinforcing existing footings, or using steel beams to distribute the load more evenly.

You will need a structural engineer to assess your home before you begin. These professionals determine whether your house is suitable for lifting and identify any issues that could compromise its stability. Their expertise ensures that the project is designed correctly and all risks are managed to achieve a successful lift.
