"We are extremely happy with Precision Garage Doors’ work to repair our double-wide garage door. The door was installed 10 years ago by Precision. It had gotten off its tracks and was stuck open the evening before we were leaving on vacation. My call was answered by a polite human (!) who managed to schedule us early the following morning. The technicians arrived on schedule, explained what was needed clearly, replaced worn parts, and had the door sorted out quickly and professionally. Also fantastic was that the door was under their lifetime warrantee, so the cost for the repair was minimal. We highly recommend Precision Garage Doors Tigard."

"This company's service was excellent, and the work Mike performed on my garage door and track system (to cure a closure problem) was stellar as well. I also appreciated Mike demonstrating and educating me on how to lubricate the door and rollers correctly, and the type lubricating product to use. I learned I've not only been doing an incomplete maintenance job, but doing it wrong. I will use this company again."

"This place is run like an old fashioned family business with humans who want to be helpful. The torsion spring on our garage door broke so I made an appointment to have it replaced the next day. Unfortunately, we found that the door was effectively locked shut. We needed to get the car out of the garage the next morning so I called back and talked to Becca about getting someone out sooner. She calmed me down and had Jody come by on his way back from his last assignment. Jody was friendly, professional, and efficient. He replaced the spring, tightened the nuts, lubricated the hinges and rollers, and reconnected the cables. After all that, he cleaned up his work area and left us in a cheerful mood. It was wonderful doing business with them."

"I ordered my new Garage Door Last November 30th and was told it would be a 3 to 5 week lead time. They didn't deliver it until February 15th, 11 weeks later. They scheduled and rescheduled 3 times the week of installation. The paperwork from Clopay on the new door said it had been ordered December 22nd one month after I put 50% down. To make matters worse the install ( supposedly their Lead installer improperly installed the Door seal. I had to call them back and instead of replacing it he adjusted the door so it was overdriving down to seal. Now 3 months later my garage door opener failed. These folks are obviously incompetent."

FAQs for garage door installation and replacement projects in Government-camp, OR

Yes, you can replace just one panel if your door is sectional and the damaged panel is available. Most modern residential garage doors have four to six horizontal panels that can be individually replaced. However, finding an exact match becomes challenging for older doors or discontinued styles. For doors over 15 to 20 years old or with multiple damaged panels, a complete door replacement might be more practical and visually consistent.

Minor dents or cosmetic damage can often be repaired without replacing the entire panel, potentially saving you money. However, if the damage affects the door's operation, security, or structural integrity, replacement is often a better investment.

For extensive damage to multiple panels or older doors where matching is difficult, full door replacement might be more economical in the long run than multiple individual panel replacements.

Your garage door panel might be repairable if the damage is superficial and doesn't affect functionality. Small dents in aluminum panels, minor scratches, or cosmetic issues often don't require full replacement. However, replacement is often necessary if the panel is warped, has large holes, shows extensive rust, or affects how the door operates. A professional garage door technician can evaluate the damage and recommend whether repair or replacement offers the best value and durability.
