"They wanted $165 before even coming out. They bought the wrong style faucet so I was w/o running water overnight. I told the tech to disassemble the drain and take out the knife that fell in earlier. He couldn't find it. This year I noticed that the drain pipes were crooked so I had someone else come in to repair work that PPH did. They found the knife and did the drain pipes that PPH should have done correctly."

"It went fabulously well. Not only did they do the work they explicitly agreed to do, but as they encountered problems, they repaired those as well. For example, they had agreed to replace the stops under the upstairs bathroom sink, but then when they saw that the stops under the half bath sink were incorrectly done, they redid those as well. They removed a tangle of pipe near the washing machine, replumbing that AND the utility sink. They also cleaned out the kitchen faucet which was becoming clogged, and ensured our drinking water R/O system was off of softened water (instead of hard water)! So there's a lot of value here for the cost, and I was very pleased with how quickly everything was done, given the enormous scope of the job. And, they said it would take a whole day, but then were done by 1 pm! Great Lakes shot to the top of my list for plumbing services in Kalamazoo."

"This was no easy job as we faced numerous challenges replacing old rusted galvanized pipe with modern PEX and PVC and rerouting some heating. Petro plumbing has a lot of experience. I always know I am in good hands with Petro Plumbing."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Grand Junction, MI

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
