"It went great! The plumbing on the house was old with an older dishwasher. Newer dishwasher was slightly larger and needed to fit differently. Last dishwasher install didn't hold to the granite counter. He affixed to the sides to keep it from tipping forward. Did the extra work to make the plumbing work and fixed a leaking pipe that we didn't know about. Quality and professional. Thanks! <br />"

"1st Class showed up right on time and began working. As the ratings above show, his work was good. The problem was with the bill. The gas company guy said it would be a 4 hour job but 1st class was there from 8am to 430pm! Im a do-it-yourselfer so I understand how a job can run long but OUCH. So $831 later he leaves. Then the gas guys come back and say that the ground wasnt hooked up right. A call back to 1st class was met with irritation and blame. He came back to hook it up grudingly. AND then he shows up with ANOTHER bill from the electircian that he expects me to pay ($198) for installing the ground. It was sent to him by mistake instead of to me. Guess that wasnt part of the job. <br /> I take responsibility for not getting a WRITTEN quote from a contractor but Ill never use 1st class again. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"My transmission went out on a weekend. I called several places for prices on used and rebuilt transmissions. Broadway Car Care did the most to try and find me a good used transmission and explained the differences of buying a used vs. rebuilt transmission. I went with the rebuilt transmission since I was going to keep the car for several years. They ordered the transmission, it came in 2 days later and they put in the next day. They called to update me through the whole process and never pressured me. I would go back to them again. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Grand Meadow, MN

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
