"Calumet City Plumbing gave us a much less expensive option to replacing the whole main sewer line. They suggested we add a 6" access point outside, which would allow them to rod the sewer and clean it out well with a 6" but. Prior to this we could only rod with a 3" bit from the house. They were on time, did the work, and cleaned up. The price was exactly as quoted. They were so good that the only way you would even know they were here today would be if you happened to notice a white circle in our grass, which is the access pipe. Overall they were awesome to work with and we highly recommend them."

"Timely and high quality work done by Steve and team--to stave off what could have been a disaster! Once they confirmed the problem with the drain pipe, they quickly came back the next day to dig the hole and get the pipe replaced. RJ always does great work....would definitely recommend!!"

"Mike called on Monday morning said he could do it sooner and came right over.  He had to drill out a section under my sink to remove the pipe and the corresponding pipe downstairs.  Quite a section.  He ran out and bought the new pipe and installed it and was gone in a very few hours.  He kept me posted as to what he was doing and I have nothing but nice things to say.  Linda and her Dad have been my plumbers for about 30 years so I only have good things to say about them.  THEY TAKE CARE OF ME!! <br />"

"There was a guy here for about 10 days re-piping my house.  They managed to not rip through my floors or ceilings to get the job done, I was impressed.  Patrick, the owner, stopped by a few times also to make sure the work was being completed.  I highly recommend them."

"The crew of 3 showed up to work at 8 as promised. We over viewed the work we had discussed on his estimate appointment. <br /> It took them roughly 5 hours from start to finish. Overall they installed supply lines for a bathroom: Sink, Toilet and built the supply for the shower. We had the rough in drains/vents already. They installed supply lines for a wet bar sink and drain/vent just outside the bathroom area. <br /> He did all of the wet wall work first and got the area ready before shutting off the water. The supply to our house was only off for a total of about 30 minutes. <br /> He was very courteous answered all of my questions. When he was finished he walked my wife through all the work that they had done as well as took some pictures and sent them to me. <br /> All copper piping was used and although I haven't been able to test the lines yet (due to construction not being finished) it is not leaking and everything appears in order. <br />"

"Have used Lanz for the last year.  They replaced a kitchen faucet.  They also checked the furnace and the air conditioner.  The air conditioner needed to be replaced.  They replaced both the air conditioner and furnace.  The work in all cases was done on time and very professionally.  I will call them again if I have a problem. <br />"

"Showed up on time ,balanced new furnace on bricks found in my yard (not exactly my preference for installation) Damaged a door frame removing old furnace. On the positive side they are friendly and replaced some cracked gas line fittings that could have created a real problem. <br />"

"Got a plug in the floor plumbing thinking the smell was from there. Smell didn't disappear. 4 months later we found an open connection hole on the vent stack. WE plugged it and since then, no more smell! ??✌️"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Grant Park, IL

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
