"We thought we needed foundation work. They not only told us that was incorrect. They directed us to a structural engineer who would be able to help us. No charge. Most appreciated."

"Steve was a pleasure to have in our house because he is polite and respectful. He is has a vast amount of knowledge from his many years experience in the field, and he strives for excellence. If there's any underlying problems he will fix them, he does not cover over any that could be problematic in the future, and he pays special attention to detail. Steve remodeled our whole bathroom; he started with the ceiling, then patched and painting the walls, replaced the sub floor and plumbing, and he finished by laying down a new ceramic tile floor and vanity, the end result is a beautiful new a bathroom from ceiling to floor. We are very pleased and thankful for Steve's good work, and we highly recommend him."

"We had quotes from several different suppliers - Pella being one, and this company was not any less expensive than any of them. Centurions quotes are somewhat unprofessional - handwritten and not detailed, apparently they do not want people shopping their quotes or perhaps they don't want to put all their promises in writing. The initial sales visit was based soley on our desire to have Provia doors -which are great quality doors and would even be better with a more professional installation. They are the preferred Provia dealer in this area. <br /> <br /> The salesman, Keith, informed me that their installers were employees that they kept on staff - totally untrue - they were subcontractors and not at all professional. The salesman told us that they would flash the inside of the openings prior to installing the windows and doors - they did not. We were replacing the doors and windows because when we bought the house we noticed they were leaking and we expressed our concern that the installers would pay attention to what was underneath when they removed the existing windows and he said they did that as a matter of course. They did not. <br /> <br /> We ended up choosing Centurion based on the recommendation of a famliy memebr and they did give us a small discount based on their relationship with our family member. We actually signed the deal with the sales manager, not the original salesman because of this. Prior to the installation, the company sent out a letter thanking us for our order and asking us for references. Why would we give them a recommendation before I see what kind of work they do? <br /> <br /> The installation was okay. They had the wrong color trim for the entry door and tried to talk me into changing my mind on the color because they had white with them - they ended up installing the trim they had bevel out instead of using white. They did not have the right color caulk so they used a clear - they said would be invisible - it is not. They dinged the door a couple of places during installation and another gentleman had to come back and bring touch up. <br /> <br /> They tried to ignore the rotted wood under one of the windows and wanted to just install over it, they were unhappy when I made them replace a piece of wood. They hacked away about 40% of the 2x4 mullion support between the window sections onone window and told me that those were not importatant to support. They did not flash or seal any openings. They caulking job is less than spectaular. The trim that they used had to be sliced and shaped and it doesn;t look the best. <br /> <br /> I had to twist their arms to get them to wash the windows when they were done - just another example of a lack of caring and professionalism. <br /> <br /> Two of the windows were so tight they had to force them into the opening leaving no room for insulation. we seem to be having water issues again with new windows. The space they did have around the top of the window they wanted to fill with caulk. We had problems immediately with the two slider windows sliding - they would jam in trying to open and close them. Due to personnel issues they were having - which we understand is unavoidable, I had to chase the installation manager via phone calls and several texts to get them to repond. The sliders still seem to stick with the weather. <br /> <br /> After all this - and probably the most frsutrating part of all this experieince was that I received several calls on my cell phone supposedly to find out how everything went and how we liked our new doors. I very plainly asked the woman if she was truly interested in how the company performed or - was she just trying to sell more windows. At first she told me she was really intersed in how it went - but then when I launched into an explanation of all the challenges she cut me off and was honest enought to admit that she was telemarketing. <br /> <br /> We contacted the company because of the water issues and they are working to resolve them - it may or may not be the actual windows but in any event it would seem being professionals in the business, they should ahve seen any issues surrounding the windows prior to the installation - especially knowing that we were concerned with leaking and water. . <br />"

"Artisan Masonry is all you can hope for when it comes to home repairs. Water was coming into the house through the old broken chimney; Pat and his guys fit us in their schedule and fixed it promptly. They are very professional and nice, and they do care of what they do. Pat even called a few days after the job was completed to make sure all was fine.  I would definitely call them again. "

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Greenbrier, TN

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
