"Polar Bear deserves EVERY STAR possible for the level of customer service, quality of work, and honesty that they provide to their clients. Joe Kelly, the owner, is genuinely one of the most knowledgable and helpful people we've ever worked with. You can tell that he truly cares about his clients and his team and that's what makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE because they all go above and beyond to actually meet your needs rather than just trying to sell you on some high-end unit. We feel very lucky and thankful that we came across Joe and his team two years when one of our furnaces died during the middle of a horrible snowstorm. We had several companies try to overcharge us and up-sell us on more expensive units than we needed. Thankfully, Joe came out and provided us with an honest assessment of our needs and options and gave us an incredibly fair quote. His team installed the new furnace the next day! Since then, we've gone back to Polar Bear to replace our second furnace and both of our AC units (all were 15+ years old). Each and every time, Joe gave us an honest assessment, a fair quote, and his team always comes in and gets the job done without leaving a trace (even in the middle of a snow storm and the pouring rain, they even brought their own shoe covers). They are always considerate and stand by their work! A huge shout out to Edwin, Rodolfo, John, Angel, and the rest of the team for such amazing work. Our only wish is that Polar Bear provided other home services because it's difficult to find such trustworthy companies/contractors in DC. We will always use Polar Bear for our HVAC needs and would highly recommend them for yours, too!"

"I contacted Bluestar Air Mechanical for a second opinion after an appointment with Air One. I have a Carrier HVAC system, and the Air One technician recommended a complete system replacement, claiming the blower was bad, the furnace control board needed replacing, and that there were other issues. Since replacing the HVAC is a big investment, I wanted to get a second opinion. It was only after comparing the service from Bluestar that I realized Air One may have been pushing for a new system sale or lacked the expertise to properly diagnose and repair the actual problems. Isaac, the technician from Bluestar, spent about an hour thoroughly diagnosing and fixing the issues. He found burnt wiring in the furnace and discovered that the wrong capacitor had been incorrectly installed in the AC. Isaac replaced the burnt wiring in the furnace and the capacitor in the AC. After these repairs, my Carrier system was back up and running—without the need for a costly replacement. Bluestar, and Isaac in particular, demonstrated professionalism, expertise, and honesty. They focused on resolving the actual issues instead of pushing for an unnecessary system replacement. I highly recommend Bluestar for their reliable service and Isaac’s thorough and knowledgeable work."

"The cost was part of a contract. The first time they gave me a window and the window went by that."

"Mathian did a great job repairing my a/c unit recently. He arrived when he told me he would and I was expecting a much higher bill and was pleasantly surprised how reasonable the price was. Thanks!"

"After excellent experiences in the past with Neighborhood Specialists for urgent service calls, we decided to use them to replace our antiquated air conditioning unit. Their price was more than competitive and the estimate included several options with an fair explanation of the pros and cons of options that would add to the cost. As always, they were prompt, efficient, courteous and not disruptive at all. The unit has been in for a couple of weeks and working just fine."

"Our 2.5 ton upstairs A/C was leaking coolant, so we opted to replace it. Since downstairs unit is a Carrier, we picked Pope's to bid for the job, as they were listed by Carrier, had good marks on Angie's list, and were locally owned. Pope's Air responded the same day we called, and Tim Stewart came in the afternoon, and spent over an hour describing our options and costs. We received a competitive bid, and selected Pope's Air for the work. Our previous supplier had replaced our downstairs unit a couple of years back, and had put in a unit which stressed our ductwork, causing a whistle when loaded. Pope's Air volunteered to have a look at that problem, too, included at no charge. Pope's Air scheduled and came on time the following week. It took a day to do the work, and the installers were clean and professional. They came up with an inexpensive fix in the cold air return ducting, and implemented it. No more whistle. In the upstairs unit, they discovered some crushed ductwork which our previous supplier had ignored and replaced about 20' of ducts, all for a very reasonable upcharge. The A/C works fine, w/ a better airflow, and they will return for an inspection once the weather warms enough to exercise the unit. We plan to use Pope's Air for all of our Heating and A/C needs in the future. Highly recommended."

"Very knowledgeable young man, provided quick service. Very pleased with his service."

"Our furnace was giving us problems just as winter was kicking in. The service was quick and effective, with great communication about what was needed and the work being performed. We greatly appreciated the service and look forward to working with this company again."

"Service guy very professional ... explained problem with AC .. would use this company again."

"The service was amazing. It turned out it was not my washing machine and my drain is clogged. Not only was Mr. Singh able to diagnose the problem very quickly he was very honest that the problem is actually not something he can service and I was not charged for something unnecessarily. If I have any issues in the future I am definitely using his services again and highly recommend him."
