He located the problem and took immediate action to resolve it. Called suppliers, located the part for a 57 year old furnace. The following day Jason and Chase came and made the repair. Cost effective price with professional workmanship. Reliable and trustworthy."

"I needed to either have my existing furnace repaired or replaced. My furnace I currently had was over 20 years old and had visible holes in it. I around for 4 estimates. Two companies were on holiday break. Two companies responded: McGinley and Sears.Bill McGinley came over within two days of my initial call to give estimates on repair/replace. Bill McGinley indicated that to repair would cost $1800 and to replace would run $2800. The estimate from Sears was more than double that of McGinley on the replacement and they said that they would not recommend repairing at all. Bill McGinley came by again to answer questions that we had regarding connections, etc. and answered everything to our satisfaction. We also gave him an AngiesList coupon and asked if the 10% indicated would be on the installation or equipment. Bill said that it would be applied against the entire bill! What a nice surprise! He immediately took off $280 and gave us a new estimate and said that he was available later that week to install. He arrived within the 30 minute window he had given us and pulled out the old furnace, replaced it with a new, energy-efficient unit and left the basement tidy and clean. I am thoroughly happy with the experience. Bill has assured us that should we have any questions about the unit once we need to use it, he'll be more than happy to come out to accommodate us.  The entire process, from first call to installed unit took 9 days; 7 days from the estimate to the install.  When I thought they would be here for most of the day, they removed the old unit, installed the new unit and cleaned up after themselves in under 3 hours!

He used both a flexible brush with multiple extensions as well as an air compressor to thoroughly clean as much as possible my flexible dryer vent hose! He also thoroughly vacuumed up the lint in back of my dryer as well as ensured all work areas were kept clean. "Rd.I had to pay an extra $15.00 because I had an extra air duct or intake vent. He discussed how often the ducts should be cleaned and offered another service that would help disinfect and keep dust mights down. The extra service also extended the length of time before I would need to have the vents cleaned again. I chose the extra service and will not have to have it done again until 8-10 years from now. My nephew who is 45 was not happy I was having the ducts cleaned but he was pleased with their work in the end. I had this done in my last house twice so I am not new to this. I was pleased with their work. They started immediately and finished about an hour and fifteen minutes later. I have house that is almost 2,000 sq. feet. The $230.00 includes the $89.00 I paid when I ordered it through Angie's List.

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."
