"I cannot say enough good things about Jeff Howard, Chad Bailey, Bobby Fields, and the rest of the workers from William's Comfort Air who were involved in this project (extensive reworking of return and supply air systems, Aeorseal of the vent system, and what basically amounted to an overhaul of much of the gas furnace). It was a complex job, taking almost 4 days to complete, and as a result was expensive--however, the amount of extra work and attention to detail this crew put in made it abundantly clear that I got much more than my money's worth. The work ethic of these guys is the best I have EVER seen--from the planning/design, scheduling, set up, removal of the old components, installation of the new systems, Aeroseal application, checking, double-checking, and clean up-- these guys explained everything, cut no corners and attended to the smallest detail to make sure the job was done right. The results are fantastic. After this experience, I would never have anyone else work on my system. I give them my very highest recommendation."

"No problems with the quality of the work or the time it took, but it was surprisingly expensive. So much so that I almost regretted having the work done. The plumber found the shut-off valves inoperable and began replacing them without telling me about it or the additional cost. I should have looked over his shoulder more often and asked more questions, but I did not. Any repairman beginning additional repairs without asking really rubs me the wrong way and leads to a "B" rating at best and a "No" on hiring again. Learn from my mistake: make certain that you do your research on pricing and agree on a price range and scope of work with Geiler (or anyone, for that matter) before they begin the work."

"I have used John and John three times now and have been very pleased with every aspect of each visit. They were on time, were friendly, courteous and knowledgeable, and worked very hard to fix the problems. In addition, they cleaned up after the work. I appreciated how they answered questions I had. I also appreciate their not spending any time telling me how horrible our plumbing is and trying to sell us things!
It's hard for me to rate any plumbing charge "excellent" - so I gave them a "good." However, I think their prices are quite reasonable in comparison to others.
I will definitely call on them again for any future plumbing problems."

"He actually replaced several parts including the gas line from the furnace to the shut off valve. He also had to repair work done by previous contractors as well and made sure everything was up to code. He cleaned the unit and sensors. We were very impressed and feel that he actually went above and beyond what we originally asked. He was very courteous, professional and was willing to drive from two counties away to repair our unit."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Homer, IN

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
