"On the initial visit, the drainage system was installed in our basement within a day. After a week there was water intrusion. I have to say after contacting them, the response was very quick and professional. They came out and corrected the drain backup outside and for the last several months, the system has held up nicely and the basement no longer floods after passing storms. This company goes above and beyond the call of duty!!"

"My basement was a hot mess! It flooded so badly that my hot water heater's pilot light often went out. It would take days for the pilot light ignition to dry out and for me to be able to relight it so that we could have hot water again. AquraGuard to the rescue! I called AquaGuard and I was sent a hero whose name was Robbie. Robbie came out, looked at my basement and was able to give me a schematic detailing exactly what I needed to have done to get my basement dry and safe. Robbie connected me with Cody, another person at AquaGuard. Cody explained to me that financing was available for anyone who needed it. What a blessing! I did get estimates from other companies, but AquaGuard came in with the highest recommendations and most reasonable price for the extent of work needed. Because my house was going on to the market for sale AquaGuard was able to expedite the project start date. Thank goodness! It took 3 full days for the project to be completed and I couldn't have asked for a better team! The men who came out were Raphael (Foreman) , Jared (Co-Foreman), Marcus, and Daniel. They were kind, professional, and courteous. They even allowed me to ask questions as the work progressed. They were kind enough to stop and teach me everything that they were doing. It did not seem to slow their work at all. Even the electrician, David, that AquaGuard sent out to install a designated outlet for the new sump pump was delightful. Today my basement is dry and it looks like a completely new area...because it is! I highly recommend AquaGuard to anyone who has any problems with basement flooding."

"John was very responsive (within 24 hours) to my initial request for an estimate and to discuss what would be involved in connecting to city water. He was very professional, thorough, and up front with my questions. He was able to show up a day earlier than expected (good weather window) in order to prevent a rain delay. The job took less time than I expected and the work looks great! We have terrific water pressure now.  (: <br /> I would definitely recommend Seay for any major (or minor) plumbing needs. John is a cut above many who I have worked with. <br />"

"AJ was great! We bought our house roughly 5 years ago and recently in last two months when it heavily rained it would cause our toilets to gargle. Turns out the old owners did not put the correct T pipe attachment on when they last serviced the house. This piece was crucial to proper drainage. AJ Took the time to explain this thoroughly and even took a picture of it so I did not have to get down in the hole myself to see it. Customer service is key to any business and AJ did a fabulous job all around. Efficiency, explaining, speaking, etc. I will be using you guys in the future and if AJ is still hanging around by the time I need service again I’ll specifically be requesting him. Thanks guys for leading the way for all blue collars workers!"

"Jeremy was punctual and very thorough with all of the options for our situation. He explained what we could do and what he would recommend. The team showed up on time and explained everything they were going to do. They worked efficiently and kept everything neat. They walked us through all of the steps of how the dehumidifier works, what maintenance we will need, and our warranty. The whole team was very detailed and helpful through the entire process"

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Jefferson, GA

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
