"Jerry and his crew did a wonderful job. My wife and I could not be happier. He transformed some very well made but outdated solid wood furniture into masterpieces again. They look better than they ever did and the finish is no longer outdated. Jerry was fantastic to work with from start to finish. Very responsive and did everything he said and more. This went down to finding a way to preserve the original Tom Seely seals on multiple pieces to adding in new pegs on table attachments. Also, it is clear that he has a process to estimate costs that matches well to the amount of work that has to be done. He is not just throwing dollar estimates out there and the estimates he does provide are very fair and reasonable, especially for the quality of work his team delivers. Most importantly the estimate provided matched the final cost. No surprises Finally he was helpful and talked through different options with us which helped us make good color decisions, harder than it seems. The pieces he did for us look amazing. "After shopping for barrel chairs I found that to replace my 2 chairs in the same quality was extremely expensive. As I felt the bones of the chairs were in excellent shape but the upholstery was old and tattered, I decided to find out how much reupholstering would cost. I called Clifton Upholstery and they responded immediately. After talking to Bob on the phone, he came to my home and presented material samples in the color choices I had asked for. The materials he presented were very high quality. I also decided to have him give me estimates on 4 cafe chairs and an office arm chair. After accepting his pricing on all, Clifton Upholstery came and picked up the chairs and the work was done and returned in a comfortable time frame (about 3 weeks). The quality of work exceeded my expectations and I am very happy with the results. If you have quality furniture that can be refurbished, it can be very cost effective and smart to do so. "Overall, we had a wonderful experience with Dovetail Restorations. After my initial inquiry, the owner Todd arranged an appointment to view my kitchen table and chairs to provide me with an estimate for services. He suggested that the base of the table and four chairs could be cleaned up rather than undergoing a refinishing but agreed that the table top should be fully refinished. Within a week, we had an estimate for the work. We decided to proceed with the services. Dovetail Restorations is extremely busy so we had to wait about 3 months before the company could pick up our table and chairs and begin work on them (we were so grateful that Dovetail provided pick-up and delivery services for an additional fee). After picking up the table and chairs, Dovetail completed work within 4 weeks and returned the items to us. The table and chairs look brand new! We were so impressed with the quality of the work and are grateful to Todd for his advice about 'cleaning up" the base of the table and the four chairs. That decision saved us more than $100 a chair. Todd also arranged to have table pads made for our dining room and kitchen tables. We deferred to him for color selections and he did a fabulous job. We highly recommend Dovetail Restorations."

"When you hire a contractor most people are looking for someone they think will do good work at a fair price. I don't think most people think about the fact that they are inviting the contractor and his crew into their homes and their lives 5 days a week for several weeks. Our basement is gorgeous. The price was fair and Gus, Chris, Tom, Fernando, Louis, and Lou were all a pleasure to work with. I had gotten three similar prices from three contractors who all seemed nice. I was a little more interested in hiring Gus because I thought his experience as a cabinet maker might come in handy. I made the right choice. He has an eye for detail and will do something a second time if it doesn't look visually appealing. He had some good ideas and we went with most of them. We have a support beam that he actually enlarged. There is no way to hide it so he made it look like it belonged there by making it match the style of the shaker cabinets. He also dressed up the side and back of the peninsula by making them look like the shaker cabinets. The project evolved as we went along. Some interior walls came down and Gus suggested that we not replace them. That was a great idea. After the initial demo and waterproofing, it was fun to come home and see what had been done each day. I know Gus looked forward to our reaction and I think the other guys did too. Gus made it clear that he wanted us to be 100% satisfied with everything. That involved making some changes as we went along. Even his crew felt the same way. I was disappointed because I felt the medicine cabinet I had picked was too big for the small bathroom. Chris said that was no problem. They took it down, repaired the wall and hung the mirror I bought to replace it. We needed a new, clean waterproof basement but, I didn't think we were going to spend much time down there. I was wrong. The aqua colored walls and everything else is so bright and gorgeous that we are down there almost every evening."
