"All I can say is that Kurt is the best contractor I have found in my 10 years on Oahu. Not only was he timely in responding but was punctual everyday. Kurts craftsmanship is second to none. Decided he didn’t like how one tile looked after completed and took it out even though we would have never noticed it. Kurt also install trim which was done with precision. Kurt is a breath of fresh air in a otherwise hit or miss contractor market."

"Yakiv did a wonderful job! The bathroom was a complete mess and other contractors expressed little interest in the job. Yakiv, however, was excited by having the opportunity to turn my disaster of a bathroom into his vision of what a bathroom should be. He requested my opinions throughout the project, but I relied heavily on what he thought was best. Yakiv spent a lot of time going from store to store to find exactly what he was looking for. The project was completed in two weeks time as promised. My bathroom was an embarrassment but now is a source of pride! I intend to request Yakiv to renovate my kitchen."

"Kyle addressed the complications, did some additional carpentry to fix the threshold problem and professional in every way. When I called him he got back to me, promptly, came to my house to look at the work which needed to be done and the night sent me an estimate via e.mail. He is a full time professional and does the work himself at a very reasonable price. ( I had asked a Contractor I knew for recommendations and those he recommended would be doing my work after they completed their day jobs in their profession.) Their estimates were oral and I frankly had little confidence that I would be treated as a primary customer. That was not the case with Kyle. He was top drawer in every aspect of performing the improvements from the quick response to the final sealing of the tiles/grout. I strongly recommend this company."

"The work itself was done very well. I have no complaints with the work itself. I also appreciate the effort it took for the owner, Clayton, to arrange a time to come to my condo to do the work. My schedule was hectic, and we worked out and changed times. He was very good at returning text messages, checking and rechecking his schedule, and more. Also the crew that came to work at my condo were polite and friendly (fun to talk with). However, Xtreme Services fell short of my expectations in a few ways. First, Clayton brought 4 crew members with him. Who needs 5 people to do such simple handyman tasks? He told me that he had a bigger job just after mine, so he brought the whole crew. Second, they arrived in a truck without a logo and parked in a handicap parking spot. (They did have a handicap tag, but I did not see anyone who was actually handicapped.) These two factors created a problem for me. The condo security was a little surprised to have 5 handymen arrive in a truck and park in a handicap zone although there was plenty of other parking in a close garage guest parking spot. Security apparently contacted the condo manager who checked us out to make sure there was no trouble. This made me look bad. Second, it cost me $420.00 for them to do these simple jobs in two hours. I expected to pay about $250 to $300 as they did come to my condo, which is fairly high end, so I expected to pay a little extra for the service, but certainly not as much as I was charged. Third, I asked for an invoice, and Clayton asked me, "Do you need it for taxes or something?" I said that I didn't and he simply looked at me waiting for me to tell him to forget it, which I stupidly did. I really did want an invoice to see why I was charged so much, as well as proof that Xtreme Services did the work if I had any problems later on. (I paid cash.) I actually blame myself for not pushing for the receipt/invoice. But, still, any good business is going to write up an invoice at the end of the work. If Xtreme Services wants to continue to grow and get jobs, they need to know this, especially when working with people in Honolulu condos. I can add that I didn't ask for an estimate, being trusting, and this was likely a part of the problem with how much I ended up paying. Enough said."

"They did a good job. She had to submit like a photo but my daughter had them work on the central are of the loft. The deal was for one room. She got a lot of good ideal from her and it was worth it for her. They were professional and I did not hear anything negative."

FAQs for tile, stone, marble clean, grout, polish and maintain service projects in Kaneohe, HI

Sealing grout delivers excellent value by creating a moisture barrier that prevents water penetration, staining, and deterioration. Unsealed grout becomes a magnet for dirt and moisture, which can lead to discoloration, mold growth, and eventual breakdown of the grout structure. Regular sealing maintenance creates a protective barrier that not only preserves your tile's appearance but also simplifies routine cleaning and extends the overall lifespan of your installation.

When combining professional grout cleaning with sealing services, expect to pay between $3 and $4 per square foot for challenging surfaces like natural stone or heavily soiled areas. This comprehensive approach ensures your grout is thoroughly cleaned before sealer application, maximizing the effectiveness and longevity of the treatment. The cleaning process removes embedded dirt and contaminants that might otherwise become sealed into the grout, providing superior long-term results.

Certain grout formulations, particularly epoxy-based products, come with built-in moisture resistance that eliminates the need for additional sealing. These specialized grouts naturally repel water and resist staining without supplemental treatment.

Additionally, if your existing grout still demonstrates good water-beading properties from previous sealing, immediate reapplication may be unnecessary. Professional contractors evaluate your specific grout type, condition, and location before making recommendations about sealing requirements.

An average DIY grout sealing project for a 160-square-foot area requires about three hours, though this timeline can extend significantly for first-time applicators or challenging spaces. Professional contractors can complete the same area in two to five hours, depending on project complexity and required preparation. The experience gap often shows in application consistency and efficiency, with professionals delivering more uniform coverage in less time than most homeowners can achieve, especially on initial attempts.
