"The good news is the old bathrooms that leaked are replaced. As long as you're not picky, don't look any closer. First of all, we like Don. He was always responsive and went out of his way on more than a few occasions. Master bathroom: The scope included demo of existing his/her vanities, shower, jacuzzi tub, floor tile, toilet, mirrors, light fixtures, and baseboards. The old shower stall was to be capped off and closed up to make room for extra drawers / storage. The old jacuzzi was turned into a larger shower space. Demo was quick. The plumber did a quick job of moving the drain for the new shower and getting the shower valve installed. We would find out later that the hot and cold water was swapped. The plumber came back and was able to turn the cartridge around so the handle operated as expected. The toilet was also set unlevel and the plumber came back to fix it. The electrician was also very quick and efficient with his work. We bought lighted mirrors so we got receptacles added to the walls where the new vanities would be installed. He made his best guess on location based on the installation diagrams showing the back of the mirror. It turned out the outlets would have been better placed an inch or two higher, but I can't fault him for that since his work was done immediately after demo before anything else was installed. The shower glass guys were great. They took their measurements and made sure to understand what we wanted as far as color (brushed nickel), the handle, and any accessories. When it came time for it to be installed there were no issues and they were efficient with their time. The cabinet guys were mostly good. They took measurements and everything fit in the given space. They drilled holes for the plumbing to give the inside the cleanest look and it fit exactly. The medicine cabinet doors were forgotten, but they brought those a couple days later. The chest of drawers in the big vanity were not equal in size as discussed. The bottom two drawers are the same size, while the top drawer is smaller. This was not brought up with Don as everything was already built and it was too far into construction. The granite countertop guys were great as well. They are a perfect example of the adage "measure twice, cut once." The countertops, sinks, and faucets fit perfectly. They said they would be back to seal the countertops when the guest bathroom countertops were put in but they needed to be sealed ASAP before the guest bathroom was to be started. Don understood this without saying and took the initiative to get granite sealer and cleaner from Lowes. Tile started out okay. We decided on a way to arrange the tile that would look best. We picked a nice blue/light brownish wood look tile. We weren't asking to pre-place tiles and nitpick placement, but to be strategic when pulling the next tile out (place brown on brown and blue on blue). The next day, the tile foreman said we can't do what we decided and he had said was okay just the day before, because we would run out of tile and it would take "too long". This didn't seem right. The tile foreman was rarely there and when he was, he was late. He also developed an attitude that we couldn't explain. His crew was good and followed the pattern we talked about and moved quickly. One guy completed most of the wall tile in one day. The next day, the tile foreman did the tile inside the shower space himself and took almost all day (how did the other guy finish more square footage while following the pattern if it would be "too slow" to consider?). The tiles were not arranged like we talked about and if you looked at it for two seconds it would be obvious. It seemed he was purposefully doing whatever he wanted to do. The day after that he wasn't here and his crew redid the tiles that were out of place. The shower niche was another example of the tile foreman being petty. We weren't sure about using the pebbles that were used for the shower floor as the backsplash and he suggested using the tile, but run vertically to contrast the horizontal tile. Great idea. We agreed. To separate the two niche compartments, he suggested using two pieces of tile sandwiched together as the shelf. We also agreed with that. They polished the tile edges for the shelf and it looked great. Later on after their job was completed, he said he didn't know why we did it that way. It was his suggestion! Additionally, the tile grout was supposed to be 3/16". When looking at the grout lines it is clear it is not 3/16" in all locations or straight. It ranges from slightly less than 3/16" to almost 5/16". When this was brought up to Don, he only pointed out that spacers were used. That's great because it's true they were used, but when the spacers are loose between tiles, that means that the space between is NOT 3/16". When the second tile contractor was here for the guest bathroom he pointed out that for this specific tile he would have done 1/8" grout lines and it made my thoughts validated. Note that Don said he will NOT use these tilers in the future. The worst for last... Painting of the new vanities was horrible. What we thought would surely be the easiest thing after experiencing the bumpiness of the tile installation turned out to be ridiculous. The vanities were unpainted from the cabinet supplier. The vanities were to be sprayed on site. I will never have this done again. I'm not sure if this is a normal thing, and if it isn't I'm not sure why it was done this way. Aside from the smell of the primer and paint (expected), the paint crew got paint literally everywhere in the bathroom (not expected). There was overspray on the new baseboards, all over the wall, on the new tile, and even splatter on the ceiling. After inspecting the cabinets the first time after the top coat was applied, it was clear another coat was needed. The paint crew came back the next day and sanded the cabinets and drawers to apply another coat. They sanded inside the house which caused a lot of extra dust. We also pointed out that nail holes had not been covered up"

Plan on hiring a plumbing pro every 18 to 22 months to keep buildup from turning into a full‑blown blockage. Mark a reminder on your calendar, even if everything seems to be flowing fine. Between visits, watch for early red flags—gurgling drains, slow water, or sewer odors—and call a plumber sooner if you notice them.
Most cleanouts wrap up in about two hours, but complexity drives the clock. A simple clog can be gone in under 60 minutes, while a stubborn blockage, especially one that needs repairs, can stretch to four or five hours. Major damage may push the job into a multi‑day project. Your plumber can give you an accurate time estimate after they’ve assessed your situation.
You can’t prevent every clog, as they naturally occur over time, but you can drastically reduce their frequency by following common-sense steps. Toss solids in the trash or disposal, and keep only water, approved liquids, and toilet paper down the pipes. Never flush problem items like dental floss, paper towels, cat litter, or “flushable” wipes. Finally, conduct regular inspections and perform routine maintenance and cleaning.
Start by confirming the company is licensed, insured, and certified. Next, dig into reviews and ask for references to be sure their work lives up to the hype. In addition, a company with several years of experience and recognized industry awards demonstrates reliability and quality. These factors altogether form the foundation for making an informed decision when hiring a sewer line professional.
Sewer line cleaning improves the overall performance of your home’s plumbing system by ensuring smooth operation throughout all connected pipes. Maintaining a clean main sewer line prevents backups and supports the efficient flow of water across your entire plumbing network. Regular maintenance not only minimizes the risk of unexpected repairs but also prolongs the life of your pipes, while seasonal care, such as winterizing, further safeguards your system’s performance.
