Because other components were involved, a new solid state hard drive was put into a laptop with a working processor - same type CPU as in the failed unit. This company picked up and dropped off the laptop (driving from Huntsville, AL (about 60-70 minutes)-- great service in this covid environment. It was low on Freon.  He had all the equipment (and supplies) necessary to fix the trouble and even offered up advice on what to do with an older unit.  Plus added a sealant to help with any micro leaks we may have had.

"Bought Big Deal for 2 hours handyman services. Was contacted by Jackie the next day by email and voice mail. She was only available to be called between 10:30 and 1:30. I reached her a day later to discuss the project and scheduling. I was hoping to get the job done within a few weeks, but they were booked through most of November and I had to take a date in December. I was hoping to discuss the project with Howard ahead of time so I could be sure what materials I needed or to see if he would purchase at least one item (a 4x4) ahead of time to bring with him.

The answer to both was no. She informed me that I could either have all materials needed available when he arrived or have the time it took for him to get them taken out of the two hours once he arrived. I asked if I could email photos of the item I was going to have him replace so he could understand ahead of time what would be needed (so he could tell me what to buy and so he would have all the needed tools with him when he came), and that answer also was no. She did say he'd call me a day or two ahead of the work date, but that would not have given me enough time to shop for the materials. I asked for an afternoon appointment.

The arrival time I was sent was 3:00, which concerned me given that it was an outside job and this would take him right up to sunset. If the job took longer than 2 hours, he'd be working in the dark or having to return on another day. After discussing the project and material needs with a friend, we decided it was just as easy to do the job ourselves and that's what we did. Given the limited availability and flexibility of this company, I decided not to use them for any other project and I requested a refund of my Big Deal purchase."
