"First appointment was a week out(Friday) from original call which was ok since furnace was still running. Reggie arrived within the specified window calling ahead to verify that arrival time was ok. I showd him to the furnace and had him listen to the sound on a video I had made. He agreed that the fan motor was going bad. He called the parts warehouse and ordered the part. Told me it would be at his office on Monday. Made repair appointment for Wednesday. Gave me estimate of repair and got my OK. Arrived on Wednesday and completed repair in half an hour. Tested. AOK. Reggie put on "booties" on both visits to avoid bringing in dirt/wet. Everything was explained clearly. Cost was as provided on first visit. Very satisfied with the whole experience."

"Nate, Jason and the electricians that worked with them were fantastic! I couldn’t be happier with their service. They installed a new heat pump and central A/C for me, and were punctual, professional and efficient. They explained the work they were doing so that I understood what was going on, and even identified some potential issues that I hadn’t noticed. I’m glad I went with Hunt’s, and they’ll definitely be my first choice for HVAC moving forward."

"Five yrs of living in this house, using a different company each yr for my HVAC annual service and each year no one could reduce the noise from my AC fan in the backyard or better say no one acknowledged that the noise level us just too high. So, we grew accustomed to it over the years and thought of the noise as a negative externality or as the price to pay to have a livable space during those hot summer days. Seatown technician, Brian, took extra time to fix the noise issue and at the end, I still paid the same original price that I was quoted. Also I should mention that Brian was on time and courteous of the property. Unlike other past services, Brian took photos of all the serial numbers and part numbers pertaining to the system I have and send them to me electronically in a PDF format, making it easy to use for future references. I am glad that my five year quest to find a knowledgable company with reasonable service fees has come to an end. I highly recommend to hire Seatown and see for yourself whether my assessment is true or false. Thank you Seatown staff for a job well done. You got me as another continuing client for any of my electrical, heating and cooling needs in the future."

"I entered a project in Angi for an annual furnace service. Eli at Project Air called within one minute. He said he could squeeze us before his next appointment or at any time that was convenient. He arrived within 30 minutes. He discovered the original installer had incorrectly wired the control board which decreased efficiency and rewired it. He showed me some meter readings and explained our furnace was in good condition. He taught me how to better clean our electronic filter. There were no extra charges beyond the original quote. He was fast, clean, knowledgeable, and did not try to hard-sell like the last guy. I absolutely will call this company again."

"Northwest Expert Heating, LLC was a great company to work with. We had a furnace that failed, and out of all the people in the area we called they were the only ones who were available within 24 hours to come out. They determined we needed a new furnace and within just a couple days they had a new one installed. A few days after the install they came out again to make some fine tuning adjustments to the new equipment to make sure that things were just right. The folks at Northwest Expert Heating, LLC are very pleasant, easy to talk to, informative, with excellent in home customer service. I would highly recommend them for all your home heating and cooling needs."

FAQs for central a/c service or repair projects in Kirkland, WA

A condenser fan motor is a crucial part of your air conditioner that prevents the compressor from overheating. It pulls heat from your AC unit to cool the refrigerant moving through the condenser coils. This allows your system to blow cool air and keeps everything running smoothly.

The most common causes of AC fan motor failure include loss of lubricant in the system due to overheating and a rusted or leaking run capacitor. Poor lubrication can also cause failure in the belt drive, which may impact the AC fan motor. Weather and electrical components can also affect your AC. For example, a storm could send water into your motor windings and damage the internal components.

Air conditioner fan motors last about 12 years on average, though they can last longer if maintained well. This includes keeping them clean and cooled as needed with annual air conditioner checkups. Routine maintenance is essential to catch AC fan issues early. An HVAC inspection can cost between $70 and $500, while AC cleaning services may range from $100 to $400.

A broken AC fan motor may need replacement because this part usually can’t be repaired. Several things indicate it’s time to replace your AC fan motor, including buzzing noises, a constantly running fan, unusually high energy bills, or an aging system. If you notice these signs, call an HVAC pro for help before the faulty motor starts to strain other parts of the AC system.

There are clear warning signs of a bad AC fan motor, including unusual interruptions in the fan operation. The motor might be malfunctioning if you hear weird noises like grinding or rattling or if the fan continues to spin when the unit is off. These indicators compromise your AC’s cooling performance and increase your energy costs. Addressing these issues immediately by contacting a trusted HVAC professional prevents further damage and safeguards your HVAC's efficiency.

Replacing your AC fan motor takes a professional one to four hours. The technician will start by assessing your system and safely removing the damaged motor. If a new part needs to be ordered, it might take a few days. Once the part is available, your pro will install it properly and make sure your system is running smoothly.
