"Pipers contacted us by phone immediately after we submitted a repair request on Labor Day late morning for a clogged sewer line. We set up an appointment for early evening, at which time I mentioned we had intended to celebrate family birthdays that evening. About an hour later Pipers called and said they adjusted their schedule so they could arrive mid-afternoon, which they did. The back-up was cleared and we were so grateful to be able to join our family that evening. Pipers had to remove and reinstall the basement toilet. They cleaned up the area after the work was completed (the bathroom looked better than when they arrived). A great ending to what was a not so great beginning to Labor Day. We will definitely use Pipers for the more extensive work that needs to be done."

"We put this off longer than we wanted. Ross stayed in touch from time to time and ultimately came in significantly less than most other bids. Bruce (Ross' twin brother) and his crew of two additional laborers showed up at 9AM (on-time) and got straight to work. They politely answered all my ridiculous home-owner questions and finished up at 3PM. It was pretty much just digging, breaking up and removing old pipe, fitting new pipe and replacing the dirt. I had a bump out from the house that caused me great concern. As it turns out, Bruce has a background in general contracting. He stayed far away from the bump out and explained why it wasn't at risk. I'm a Realtor and have seen enough sewer problems that I prepared myself for the worst; however, what I got was the best. The best option for my problem, the best price and the best company. I would not hesitate for a moment to use or recommend Seattle Select LLC."

"This sewer line project required a few days from camera work to excavation, replacement of pipe, installation of an additional clean-out, backfill and clean up of not only our excavation area, but consideration of our neighbor's shrub close to the work area. Chris and Ryne, the company supervisors/representatives, provided knowledgable and detailed information prior to, during and upon completion of the work. They were professional and exceptionally courteous in person, to our neighbors, and over the phone. This was especially important as one of us was out of state during the project, and the other had to leave early for another trip out of state. That meant the final inspections and details were handled by the guys for us. Excellent work, start to finish!"

Dillon established In-Depth Excavation in 2018 following years of experience. What started as a side job for family and friends turned into an ambitious passion and career. Dillon served on the 24-hour on-call duty rotation team for five years. At his First-panel interview he was offered an entry-level position with Alderwood Water and Wastewater District (AWWD). Dillon advanced through the ranks, exceeded qualifications, and was the youngest to be promoted to Utility Worker Lead in company history.\nIn December 2017, Dillon was presented with the Arden Blackledge “Excellence in Leadership” award which is the highest annual honor given at AWWD.\n\nHe was employed by various contractors working on storm, water, sewer mains, demo, plus grading and restoring for two years. Dillon proudly serves Western Washington and is on course for growth to establish In-Depth Excavation as a competitor in diverse markets.

"I had a large leak at the pipe that is located on the side of the garbage disposal, and in looking at the issue, it was actually discovered that I had another small, additional leak in the back (very hard to see) where the pipe went into the wall. Also, existing venting system was discovered to be inadequate. The problems were diagnosed in their first trip to my home, and they needed to leave to get the right parts, and they later returned to finish the job. I now have no leaks and a fully functioning venting system. They did a thorough job in their repairs, and they were friendly and professional."

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in Kirkland, WA

Sewer line replacement costs range from $50 to $250 per linear foot. Your replacement costs rise or fall based on material quality, installation complexity, and the specialized equipment crews need for excavation. Deeper lines cost more to access, and choosing budget-friendly PVC piping rather than premium copper also shifts the final price.

A sewer sleeve repairs cracked or damaged sections of a sewer pipe without the need for excavation. In this process, technicians insert a cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) liner, saturated with epoxy, to seal defects and restore the pipe’s integrity. This approach protects your yard, trims repair time, and adds years to your sewer system’s life—all while delivering reliable results.

Newer homes use durable PVC and ABS piping that offer smooth interiors and effective clog prevention at an affordable cost. Older homes use materials such as copper, Orangeburg, clay, cast iron, or lead, which require a licensed plumber’s inspection to confirm safety and performance. This clear distinction impacts maintenance and overall system reliability.

Red flags include persistent clogs, recurring sewage backups, and unexplained spikes in utility bills. Strong sulfur odors, bubbling drains, and visible sewage in the yard serve as unmistakable warning signs. These symptoms demand immediate professional inspection and repair to prevent further property damage and health hazards, ensuring the system operates safely.

All sewer line projects require permits because strict sanitary and biohazard regulations mandate regulatory approval. Homeowners must secure permits, incurring a specific permit fee of $200 in addition to contractor costs. A licensed professional or local building department manages the permitting process, ensuring the work complies with all legal requirements before the project begins.

A clogged sewer line is not covered by standard homeowner’s insurance policies because these policies exclude damage from regular wear, tear, and neglect. In cases of accidental damage—such as when tree roots block the line—certain policies provide coverage. Homeowners must review their policy details or consult with their insurance provider to confirm the coverage terms.
