"Mike came to our home we just purchased and installed a gas line for our dryer. After installing, Mike stopped back by our home to hook up our dryer once it had arrived, and ensured there were no gas leaks for safe operation of our dryer in our home. He did great work, and anticipate contacting him in the future for other jobs."

"RT Moore previously installed the plumbing in our Estridge-built home 6 years ago. I had them back last year to install plumbing for the basement bathroom rough-in and install a tub/shower like we have in the upstairs guest bath. Today's visit was a re-schedule from 2 weeks ago when they cancelled due to a sick plumber. I had them return today to hook up the tub/shower, toilet, and sink.  The tub/ shower and sink went well. Unfortunately, the flange they previously installed was cracked and the toilet could not be installed today. The plumber had to pour quick-crete in order to reset the toilet flange, thus the toilet was not able to installed. Also, the sewage sump previously installed did not work. Today the plumber had to remove the pump and drill an air escape hole in the pipe to get it to work.  I was really glad he, Darrell, took the time to do the job right.  What originally was estimated at 2 hours took 5+.  I guess I'll have to install the toilet or have them back.  The quality of today's work is an A. Because the previous installations were not so great, I gave them a B rating for that.

"It went very well.  I only have a couple of "complaints" although they are not anything that would prevent me from doing business with JCS again.  I was expecting the owner, who I had dealt with in the "estimation" process, to be there to do the actual work.  However, the day of, he ended up sending two other workers (subs) to do the work because they had more experience with gas lines.  This was actually welcomed, I would much rather have experience with the work over familiarity with the project itself.  The workers who showed up were more than competent and friendly.  My second complaint is that when they were done with work they left a number of minor things unfinished that I had to complete myself...namely cleanup after the work (muddy boot prints on carpet and hardwood floors and sawdust) and trash in the crawl space.  They also had to borrow one of my drills to complete the work easier.  They had their own tools, and they would have been able complete the work without my drill, but it made their work much easier.

FAQs for gas piping projects in Ladoga, IN

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
