"<p>The service that Dave and his crew provided were amazing.  This was not the first company I called, but it was the first company that came and quoted me in a reasonable time.  Their quote was competitive to a few other companies, but still a significant amount less than competitor's models at the same level which was all an added bonus!  His crew were prompt, friendly, and did a great job installing the new furnace.  I would highly recommend this company...service was one of the best we've had!</p> <br />"

"Petermans set up the appointment for a particular day and told me that they would call me before the plumber came out to the house. I chose to be called 45 minutes before they came out, and they were right on time. Joshua, the plumber who came out to the house to do the work, was excellent! He was very professional and kept me informed during the whole job. He also wore the paper booties over his shoes when he was inside the house, which I appreciated as it kept my carpet clean. He had to cut off the old shut off valve and solder in a new section of pipe with a new shut off valve in it. He had to work in the crawl space and the closet where the valve was located. There were only 2 areas where I thought things could have been better. 1. It did not seem that the person that I talked to in the office when I set up the appointment had given the correct information to the plumber. When he came he thought I had a leak, and he did not know that I had a coupon even though I had been very specific with the office when I set up the appointment. Thankfully he had all of the things he needed to do the job on his truck already. 2. My final bill was $99 more than the estimate I was given. He explained that he had to add 2 hangers to pipes in the crawl space and that it took him longer than estimated to drain the pipes. I felt that an extra $99 was a little much for those 2 items. Overall, I was very happy and would definitely recommend them ."

"Lanz was the highest of 4 quotes from local plumbers when I was looking to have multiple plumbing jobs completed, including the purchase and installation of a new water heater. I went with Lanz on the water heater only because they were quick to respond and were able to install it 2 days after my request. The Lanz rep, Ken, was very professional. On installation day, he had a younger guy helping him who seemed to struggle quite a bit and scratched up some furniture while bringing the new water heater in. He also left a large pipe in the yard that I had to dispose of. I chose to go with the least expensive water heater and still paid $1439.21 with Lanz. Others were significantly lower in price, but definitely not as quick to respond or schedule."

"I had sold my neice a home that was in foreclosure (vacated but not yet auctioned). The utilities were on, but the mechanicals were not and the water & gas were off at the meters. I was having trouble getting the furnace to run when I knew the gas was on and called Schomers to see if they had someone who could help me. The had a technician there in 20 minutes and he got the water & gas turned on, the furnace running. I had shut all the water faucets off because the company who secures the foreclosures leaves them open in case of a freeze. I got them all but the water lines at the washer hook up on the 2nd floor. When I got up there water was shooting across the room and I had a small flood. I had a few paper towels with me, but Mike, the technician, had more and he even helped me wipe up the floor (not a small project). After that, he got the furnace going, the water heater filled and pilot lit. I was grateful for their quick response."

"Doug and his crew did an excellent job! They provided a quote quickly and when I had a request for a different combination of furnace/ AC / thermostat, they worked out the best rebates and replied with 2 additional options.   They were prompt, courteous, efficient and clean. The workmanship looks very finished. - pipes, wires and tubes all with supports. Doug even constructed a little instruction manual holder out of metal to hold all of the manuals on the side.    I may not know what all of them do but the installation looks very clean and professional.  My husband is in the construction trade and he was even pleased! The furnace and air conditioner have done an excellent job in cooling and heating. We didn't choose the cheapest products or the most expensive and Doug helped explain the choices that were the most effective for heating and cooling our home.  They were almost completely finished in 1 day and came past the next day for just a short time to compete the job.  Doug spent time instructing us on the programmable thermostat and also on how to use the whole house humidifier.  I would definitely use their services again.  <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Lafayette, IN

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
