"We had been cleaning up water on the garage floor for over a week. At first we thought it was from the A/C unit but when checked by service man found it was in plumbing. Called a plumber but he could not find and did not want to jack hammer the whole garage floor. We called American Leak and within 24 hours they had Chad out here. It took a short time for him to turn off water, blow air in the pipes and listen and identify the area of the leak within minutes. He was very professionial, on time and even called to see if we had any trouble getting the leak fixed. Strangely since he was here it has not leaked so no need for plumber as yet. It seems that when he turned off water and turned it back on the rush of water probably disturbed sediment in the pipes and something plugged the pinhole leak at that time. We know it may break loose again but thanks to American Leak and Chad we will be able to identify the site of the pinhole for repair. <br />"

"I found this company on Angie's List and called them based on their favorable ratings.  I am happy to add another favorable rating to their list.  <br /> We bought a home earlier this year that has a gas fireplace and we tried to start it but it didn't start.  We wanted to have it inspected and serviced so that it would work and to ensure that there were no mechanical difficulties that needed repair.  I called for an appointment during a week where the temperature dropped so I knew they had a busy workload. We received an appointment for a week later which was fine since this was nothing urgent.  <br /> Their technician, Keith and an assistant came promptly at their appointed time.  He was very knowledgeable and thorough. Both were very pleasant to deal with and professional. Keith checked that the chimney looked clear and that the mechanicals looked good.  He showed us how to light the fireplace and it worked the first time. He added some 'embers' material for effect and was even nice enough to give us some extra for the future if we ever want to add more.  <br /> We had an excellent experience with them - I highly recommend their services and will definitely call upon them again <br /> as needed.  <br />"

"When I noticed that my water heater was not producing hot water, I called the gas company who said that they could come "tomorrow" and would charge $130 for a service call. I then called a local appliance store who referred me to Integrity.  I called Integrity and explained my problem.  Frank said that he was on his way to another job but that he could stop by my house first.  He arrived, diagnosed the problem and installed new parts.  The water is now hot.   <br /> Service was unexpectedly prompt.  Frank seems to know what he is doing and the price was quite reasonable for a house call and parts. <br />"

"<p>Our new home had an existing propane tank to heat the pool and spa. The tank was with another service provider and after reading about many bad experiences with that provider, we decided to go with Discount Propane. They were very professional from start to finish. When we called they asked us about the propane tank and explained that they were required to give the old propane company 2 days written notice of their intent to install a new tank on our property. We agreed to this and had an appointment set up immediately. Based on our research, the estimate they gave us to install and fill a new tank was very competitive.</p> <p>When the tech came out to do the job he informed us that we actually owned the tank on our property, so we would not need to pay for a new tank to be installed. This cut the cost of the job by 2/3 what we were quoted. I'm sure a dishonest company could have just installed a new tank, hauled off the old tank, and charged us the full amount, especially since we were not expecting to own the tank on our property. Needless to say, we were very pleased and impressed by this service! I should also add that the tech was very prompt and arrived at the scheduled appointment time. </p>"

"Overall it went well. They arrived when scheduled, but had a tank that was too big since they hadn't confirmed the property had sufficient room to put it at least 10 ft from the property line and 10 ft. from the dwelling per building codes. Even so, they returned later that day and installed two smaller tanks that didn't have to have that much space from the dwelling and property line. When the electrical contractor came out to run the generator, he found there was a small gas leak at the line near the generator. I called Discount Propane and they came out that same day and fixed the leak. It then passed inspection. Their phone operators were responsive and for the most part handled things well. There were a few hiccups that I guess you could expect, but they took care of any problems immediately. They called before coming out, so communications were good. They abided by their estimate. I would use them again."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Lake Helen, FL

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
