"Horizon Services Warranty Entrapment New to Delaware, but struggling with a HVAC warranty issue with Horizon. Advice Please. I have been waiting 3 months for an Appointment to get my annual HVAC system serviced by the Horizon team. Starting this process in June, I was told that September 12th was now an Option after 10 min on hold. I did not accept this as this was another month out and I was not available. I have made no less than 5 attempts to get a service appt on my HVAC and each time, since the "10 Year Warranty" maintenance team is 1/10 the size of the fleet driving around, I was told I would be put on a waiting list to be called back. Nothing! No one ever called me. I keep calling them. Horrible! My frustration is a legal one: My system warranty was several thousand dollars on top of the new units and installation. However If i dont get a $149/year Annual Service I void this; if someone else services the units-I void this. I want a way out: 1) Horizon to reimburse or pay another HVAC company of my choosing to perform this service, and keep my warranty in tack in writing. 2) How about a business model for warranty holders: Schedule me like a Dentist....11-12 months year from my last appointment (provided not winter so my AC can be checked), they send me an appointment reminder. This is a big hassle, anyone else have this issue? PS> During my call 8/16 at around 10:30am, i told the representative this was it, if no call back, I would hit social media (Facebook, Linkedin, Nextdoor, BBB). "I had an absolutely terrible experience with McRae Air Conditioning and Heating. I purchased a home equipped with their HVAC system, and within just five months, the heat stopped working—right in the middle of winter during a snowstorm. My home was freezing at 50°F, so I called for service, which should have been covered under warranty. I scheduled an appointment, and the technician, after being several hours late, went to the wrong address, left a sticker on someone else’s door, and left without even trying to contact me. When I called back, the customer service rep was rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. He initially told me the technician was on the way and just 12 miles away—but after another hour of waiting, I called again only to be told that the technician had already “been to my house 2 hours ago” (the wrong one) and left a note. If the rep actually wanted to help, he would have told me this during my first call instead of wasting my time and leaving me sitting in the cold. Not once did the technician call me to confirm the address or check in after knocking on the wrong door. When I expressed my frustration, the rep rudely dismissed my concerns, saying, “Well, I had nothing to do with that,” and then interrupted me with, “Do you still want to rebook or not?” as if I had to stop talking or risk not getting another appointment. This was an emergency call in the middle of winter, and McRae handled it in the most unprofessional, careless, and disappointing way possible. If you’re considering using them for HVAC service, do yourself a favor and go with another company. I’ll update this review after the (hopefully successful) service call and speaking to the manager who was not there at 4 pm on a Wednesday."

"The technician came on a routine visit to find out that the unit was operating faulty (we had noticed strange noises and limited AC). George the owner came and educated us about alternatives for a replacement unit. We decided on an American Standard gold series. Installation was planned for the following week; technicians came on time with prior phone call, did clean work (maybe 5 hours) and left the workplace clean. Unit works perfectly! 10 yrs guarantee on parts."

"Talked to a lot of companies. Mike was about as dte & real as you get. Immediately got good vibes. He sent his 2 son's out to check out my AC unit outside. I'd gotten varying opinions & estimates. Tbh, I became weary, but I figured Mike wasn't feeding me anything but what was real. His boys showed on time, extremely polite, well mannered, knowledgeable & professional. They went right to work. Found the problem without trying to sell me a bunch of extra stuff or pad the price for something it didn't need. Without hesitation, I said do it! I have to admit for 2 very young guys, they knew what they were doing. When they were done fixing my system was cranking it out & putting like a kitten. I was afraid out what my bill would be. Couldn't believe how fair & reasonable it was. No extra fees, taxes, add ons etc...EXTREMELY IMPRESSED...I definitely found a HVAC + Co on the Eastern Shore I trust and highly recommend them. Family business & it shows with pride they take it seriously..."
