"Our 25-year-old Heat Pump in Rehoboth Beach went down on a Saturday in mid-August and needed to be quickly replaced. After a few days of researching Heat Pump equipment & potential local providers, and eliciting multiple formal bids, we selected Mikeâ s HVAC. We are completely pleased. The equipment they offer is Bryant, among the most reliable and quietest. Their bid was the lowest of the other bids we received. For higher brand reliability, higher SEER2 ratings, and quieter noise levels than what other bidders were offering. Their bid was about 50% lower than one well-known national HVAC provider for essentially the same level of equipment. There were no surprises on the final bill; it was the same as their bid. The time from Agreement till installation was amazing. We met with Mikeâ s on the Monday after the Saturday failure. The Heat Pump installation was completed by Wednesday. We were also appreciative of the accuracy of their understanding of federal Tax Credits and potential Delaware Utility Rebates given our situation. We recommend this vendor highly."

"They fixed my heat pump by getting the motor fan operational. Previosly Cinch Home Warranty had another company do a repair that failed when the fan became detached. The warranty company said it was part of an “exterior part” and wouldn’t repair or replace the unit. I was searching for Hvac companies to replace the unit and Shore2Shore said “let’s see what we can do.” Voila they reengineered the fan install and it is humming happily along. This has saved us $$$$$$’s!"

"I have had a service contract with McCrea Heating and Cooling since I purchased my condo unit new 7 1/2 years ago which included 2 maintenance visits a year. My current contract expired yesterday so I called to renew my service contract and upgrade from "Bronze" to "Silver." The representative took my charge card information over the phone. I asked if the contract was in effect as of today. They said "yes." Then I tried to schedule a service call (my unit was serviced a little over a month ago and now the condo wasn't cooling.) I was told then that the Silver Contract would NOT be in effect after all. The difference in price between Bronze and Silver is the cost of a diagnostic visit so they were getting the money one way or another. My long time history with the company did not persuade them to honor the contract I had just paid for. They wanted to charge me $98 to have my problem diagnosed under the Bronze contract that I pointed out was already expired. I was told the representative "misspoke" and should have told me they would have to send out someone to determine whether the furnace they have been maintaining for the past 7 years (with the most recent service call just a month ago) would "qualify" for the Silver plan. So, I cancelled the order for the Silver Plan. I called another company who came out for $30 and determined the problem was a clogged condensation drain. This drain was supposed to have been "blown out" when the regular maintenance was done by McCrea just a month ago, but obviously was not. The water was backed up in the drain pipe and filled the pan under the furnace/AC unit which turned off the AC. Now that everything is working again, I am seeking a different maintenance service plan provider. McCrea has competitive service contract prices, but if they have no customer loyalty, and the maintenance work is not done properly, maybe it's a question of "you get what you pay for.""
