"I asked DC Roofing for an estimate to replace my roof and to replace gutters and downspouts on my house and barn. They responded to my call same-day, and Jimmy visited my house within the week. Upon inspection Jimmy said my roof was good for another few years and that he would recommend up-sizing the gutters. We discussed the pros and cons of gutter guards. At this point I knew I was dealing with an honest man representing an honest company. He was honest about the roof condition, and there was no sell-job on the gutter guards ... just an honest discussion of pros and cons on both. I opted to just replace the gutters on the house and barn at this time, with no gutter guards. After signing the contract and paying half up-front Jimmy said he'd call to schedule installation in a couple weeks. Actually, they showed up unannounced to do the installation the next week. That could have been bad for the installer (we live an hour from Indy), but my wife happened to be at home that day. She put the installer on-hold (he was very nice about it) and called Jimmy. Jimmy was as surprised as we were ... somehow the installer got ahead of schedule and things got a bit out of order. Everything worked out fine and the installer was able to go to work. The installation was complete in about 5 hours and was very professionally done. (My wife gave them high marks and she's much more critical than I am.) Everything was cleaned up and there were no signs that anything had been done ... except some beautiful new gutters. The next day we got a torrential downpour and the gutters and downspouts performed great ... no overflow, no leaks ... all the water went where it was supposed to. In a few years I'll replace the roof. I'll call DC first."

"we had asked that work not be done the week before our daughter's college graduation.  They called the weekend before and said a rooking crew was available and could do the work on Monday if we wanted to go ahead.  we said OK.  then it rained and they worked on Tuesday and then into Wednesday to finish.  the roofing crews did not always dump debris onto tarps, did not properly address an issue at the chimney leaving a gap above the facia (even though I had pointed out this condition during a walk thru for the bid), and, in my opinion, bent the gutters in two places.  When they fixed the roof at the chimney, they said they must have had some bad caulking because the first hot day after it ran down the side of the chimney in a black gooey mess.  They then had to come back again and clean the chimney and re-fix the problem. <br /> The guy installing the bathroom vent duct  through the attic installed the wye backwards. <br /> The siding crew replaced the moldy HardiPlank and trim.  They pointed out several other bad soffit locations that were not in the original scope and those were fixed by change order.  I had to have them come back and fix several sloppy joint locations, caulk places that had missed and fix other locations where the HardiPlank was installed against roofing but had not yet begun to deteriorate.  During the work on first return they tore a hole in the bedroom screen and we had to have them come back and take the screen off and have it replaced.  In general, their attention to detail and level of craftsmanship was not nearly as good as the work they had done in 2004.  They did eventually fix everything we asked for.  Next time I will look for someone better. <br />"
