"I found the contact information for Monroe Heating and Cooling through Angie's List.com. I called them on 9/25/12 around 2pm to inquire about having an estimate to install a new heat pump and electric air handler w/15kw heat strip. Jim Monroe showed up around 3:30 that same afternoon to give the estimate. After receiving a few other estimates for the same work and size units, Monroe was by far the best price. I called Jim back on Thursday, 10/4/12 to set up an appointment to do the install. He was extremely accommodating, arranging the date on my day off. Jim and Dan arrived at exactly 9am, which is the time he told me he would be here. They were both extremely professional, and treated myself, my wife and my home with the utmost respect. They performed their work very efficiently, and had my new system up and running within 6 1/2hrs., including fabricating some ductwork to tie-in my existing wood furnace. At multiple points during the day (when they were placing the pad for the H.P, setting up the air handler, etc.) before they made anything permanent, they asked me if I was happy with how/where they placed things and ran the electrical wiring. They even went out of their way to return the original air handler for another unit due to a dent in the original unit, which chances are would not have been noticeable in the least bit and would not have affected performance, but Jim told me he didn't want me paying for something that was damaged. Another big point with me concerning Monroe Heating is the fact that Jim told me up front that he did not want me to put out any money up front at all until it was all done, and fully tested. I will say this also, They do not normally give written estimates (Jim gave me a written without question when I asked him for one), but the final price was exactly what Jim quoted me, even though they ended up doing a little more work than originally planned. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for an honest, trustworthy HVAC contractor who performs exceptional work! I have already referred him to two family members and one good friend, and I'm not one to refer anyone to family/friends! <br />"
