"The installation went well. They put in a smaller unit after checking our square footage and insulation rating in attic and the type of windows we have installed. They said our current unit was larger than what was needed and keeping the same size would end up causing the unit to recycling more (cut on/off), thus causing more wear and tear on unit and electrical costs.  It was our choice as to what size we wanted installed. We went with smaller unit and it works great and saved us $$$ by going down in size.. We were also told if we are not satisfied with the unit within one year, we could change it out for the larger unit.  We had some issues with the cleanup (this was a new crew). I called and they sent a supervisor out and the mess was cleaned up. He also checked the work that was done on the installation.  After having the unit for several weeks they did an follow up call to check to make sure the unit was working properly for us and inspect the unit. Great having the follow up and customer service. This is a great company with excellent service and also looking at saving money for the customer.

"Butch called back right away. Came out in a timely fashion. Got one unit working. Then he said the main board was malfunctioning on the downstairs unit and would have to be replaced. It would cost 1200 or 1300. But if we spent a little extra on a service contract he would wave the trip fee and it would be 1100 something. Okay. We did that. It was too late for him to get the board that day so he came out the next day to install the board. But the unit still didn't come on. He said the thermostat was bad and it would we 300 to 500 to replace the thermostat depending on what we wanted. My husband told him we could do that ourselves. Just by pass it and get the unit working. Then he came down and said that the blower motor was out and it would be 1800 to replace the blower motor or 2400 to just replace the whole unit and then we'd be under warranty again. I told them I wanted a second opinion before we did that. I called Ed & Sons they came out, confirmed that we did need a new thermostat. And said they could rebuild the blower motor for around 100$. I ordered two new thermostats for 300 for both of them and my husband installed the thermostats. The work they did was fine. But I felt like they were more of the school of let's just replace parts until it works or we can sell them a new unit. Rather than what can we fix."

"Everything went smoothly up until I had a ceiling leak and we found that the condensation line to the other unit was broken during the installation. It was not carelessness but a poor design by the builder of the home. Anyway, they agreed to fix it and the damage it caused, without any need for me to make a lot of noise. My only complaint was that the repair was long and drawn out taking 4 or 5 visits to complete and the repairman was good but never came on schedule."

"I was able to make an appointment quickly. The technician was here early, was very professional, and kept me apprised of his progress throughout. He asked questions when there were decisions to be made. He explained the whole house surge protector to me, which I decided to purchase. He made sure I understood that if it were needed that it would still mean losing electricity to the house (the same as if I didn't have a protector and there was a major electrical surge) - but that large appliances that aren't currently on surge protectors would be safe. Think refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, washer, dryer, etc. All work was performed in a professional manner and he completely cleaned up after his work. Our garage had water all over the floor.  We had no idea if a pipe had broken in a wall or if there was a slab leak.  My call was promptly answered and even though it was two days before Thanksgiving, they were able to send a technician out that day.  He discovered the clogged softener drain pipe and cleaned it out.  All is working perfectly.  I must add that the tech got stuck in traffic in Austin,but, I was called and told that he would be later than expected.  He arrived at 7p.m.cheerful and happy to help us.  I was very impressed with his dedication.
