Jacob took the time to go over the operation of the new programmable thermostat for the heating and cooling units. "We hired Barron Heating because years ago they were a good company and did good work for us. This time however, I have to say they are the worst contractor we have hired in 45 years of home ownership. The salesman told us they could fit an upgraded furnace in our existing space. They were not able to fit it where they said they could, and it obstructed the laundry room doorway so badly that the washer and dryer would not fit through the doorway without removing the furnace again. For the next six months, they stalled, made excuses, and lied (in writing) about coming back to do the job properly. At that point, we hired a lawyer and notified them of our intent to sue for breach of contract, including failure to have the required state inspection performed. Only after being faced with the choice of going to court or fulfilling their contract did they take any tangible action to properly reinstall the furnace. Unless you don’t mind the possibility of 17 months plus the additional cost of a lawyer and process server to get a simple furnace installed and legally inspected, learn from our mistake - hire a different contractor."
