"From start to finish, this felt like a partnership. SBC - and everyone they sent to do work - was fantastic. The designer listened and had great ideas, the masonry was beautiful, electric and plumbing were solutions oriented and I actually had fun selecting appliances. The final outdoor kitchen far exceeded our expectations and we are already trying to think of our next project with SBC."

"Tim and Dan were easy to work with and provided tremendous value for the money. We were preparing to see our house and needed the entire yard sodded and mulched. They worked with us on timing, gave us a great price, and the work was fantastic. We highly recommend."

"They covered our entire 1/2 acre property which a few years back was the runner-up in the Baltimore Sun's best gardens review. Edged and cleared out all of our beds, spread 10 yards of mulch, and rebuilt a 70 yard long french drain. Our neighbors commented "It's looks like something you see in a magazine." We agree! Amazing team -- so polite, attention to detail, and hard working. Love these guys!"

"I joined Angie's List when we decided to go ahead with our kitchen renovation. I read many reviews and called about three business. The only one that returned my call was Kenwood Kitchens. The call was from Shannon Velton, kitchen designer. She arranged to come over and meet us and see the kitchen. She measured and listened to what was on our wish list. Shannon called us to arrange a meeting at the showroom where she could go over her drawings, show us her ideas and we could pick from samples of cabinetry, etc, for her to price. It took us a few months to finally decide on Kenwood Kitchens, because I wanted to get three prices in order to make sure we were getting a fair price. Our renovation started on 28 April and ended yesterday when Steve, our project manager, came to complete what was left. We had to get a new cabinet door, they had gotten plaster on the screen of the sliding glass door, Steve rescreened the door. During the work, we had water from a bad storm come in through what we thought might be the result of having our pipes moved. Steve went on the roof to check it. Beth emailed me a picture of missing shingles that we had no idea were missing! <br /> Our carpenter Jeff was great. He did an awesome job. Our floor guys were great, as were the electrician and plumber. Beth from the office, who was in contact with us during the job was always pleasant. She supplied a calendar that told us what was going to be done everyday. If anything changed she would contact us. There was also a binder with everything that was needed for the people working on our kitchen. Shannon also stopped by to make sure everything was going well and we were happy. <br /> I cannot say enough about Shannon. She knows her stuff. We love our kitchen and I give Shannon and her ideas all of the credit. She met us at stores and helped with our selection choices. She was an absolute pleasure to work with! She even helped me pick out a paint color when the work was complete. Kenwood, I hope you know what a treasure you have there. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"Outdoor Solutions, although pricey, was well worth it! Tom and his crew were professional in all regard...from his responsiveness when I initially called, the initial site survey, and the presentation of the plan, Tom was very thorough, responsive, and knowledgeable. <br /> . Once started, Tom' crew was there every day. They are all full time employees who were very diligent and courteous, They cleaned up after themselves each night, and left the job site in good order, <br /> Everyone from my neighbors to my mail man, and people walking by have told me how great the new stone work is, and I have to agree! I would certainly use Outdoor Solutions again, and have recommended them to my neighbor! <br /> <br /> <br />"

"I was very pleased with King Cut's responsiveness to my quote request, their follow-up to spec the job, and the execution of the task. I asked for two levels of quote: simple repair of existing flagstone and a more ambitious paying stone rebuild of front walk. Two detailed quotes were prepared and transmitted to me for evaluation; I was very impressed with the detail. For budget reasons, I opted for the less expensive flagstone repair. My front walkway's flagstone arrangement had degraded over years and the polymeric sand had essentially disappeared prompting weed growth in cracks and other unsightly developments. ,King Cut's staff arrived early on the day of the job and finished the job in one day as estimated (which included laying gravel rock down around portions of house for erosion control purposes). The job involved re-bed of the flagstone on gravel then application of polymeric sand in the joints, The overall cost was as quoted. The job was completed on time and within budget with utmost professionalism. Very pleasant experience!"

"I've used Sharper Cut to develop the gardens in front of the house, terrace the front garden for a level field for the trees, bushes, plants and water fountain, and build out the back garden to include and expanded patio and fishpond with waterfall. Their work is superior...and helps give the house a more inviting exterior view to family and guests. I'd recommend them for any project great or small...and they can tailor the project for future growth based on your budget! The winter refresh and clean up went exceptionally well...as their work always provides!"

FAQs for outdoor kitchen building service projects in Lothian, MD

Building your own pizza oven can be a cost-effective option if you already possess the necessary firebricks or materials and have the skills to complete the project. When you have the required supplies on hand, you save on material costs and labor fees. However, if you need to source every component, a pre-made kit may not deliver the same savings.

Fire bricks are engineered to withstand the high temperatures generated inside a pizza oven, protecting the structure from cracking or spalling. Standard bricks can fail under intense heat, potentially damaging the oven and creating safety risks. By using true fire-rated bricks, homeowners maintain consistent cooking temperatures, preserve the oven’s structural integrity, and reduce the likelihood of costly repairs. The modest increase in material cost is offset by longer service life and safer operation.

An optimal pizza oven installation positions the opening exactly between 36 and 48 inches above the ground to guarantee clear visibility and safe, comfortable access. This height optimizes heat distribution and ergonomic use. In addition, dome height can vary: shorter domes produce the signature soft, charred crust of Neapolitan pies, whereas taller domes are ideal for generating the robust baking environment required for New York–style pizzas.
