"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"Let me see, where do I begin?  We emailed and called Bob on our nagging issue of this mold throughout our basement.  The house constantly smelled musty with the basement even worse.  After reading the controversial reports on how potentially mold was hazardous to our health we had thought better late than never.  We considered another highly rated company doing the same work but they were a lot higher in price by roughly $1,700.  Well before they ever began this project, I was just plain doubtful. I just balk at spending so much money on projects like this and have them turn out sub-standard, plus getting ripped off.  After reading so many favorable Angie's Lists reports though, you just have to consider differently.  It's what people are truly saying about them I think.  A chance to have their voices heard.  On the contrary, Bob and his American Air team of 3 men made BIG believers out of us, period.  From start to finish these workers were exceptionally courteous, respectful and never got in the way nor did they pester us needlessly.  It was hard to know that they were here other than some normal noises.  They were just the ideal workers you wanted to have and they worked very hard each day that they were here.  It had taked them about 2 1/2 days total.  They had bagged and taken many bags of mold infested debris that was torn out.  And, they disposed of them.  Wood paneled walls and mold infested drywall totally removed, and it's now down to the "skeleton" framing exposed.  The last day that they were here, Bob came over to do a once, twice over to inspect their work.  He wasn't happy with certain cleaning aspects after the gutting out, and he firmly but kindly instructed them that they had some more to do.  They just did it.  No balking, whining or anything.  It's unbelievable, the transformation of our basement, our home.  No more musty smells and odors.  And, to top it all off, the cleanness and feel of our home once again.   I truly really would have to recommend this company without hestation.  This job was first rate, and above all else, Bob's very easy to deal with and he is very approachable.  What a find.  He honored the 5% Angie's List discount coupon, too.       "

"John came out and jumped right up on the roof.  I was worried that the roof was shot over the garage.  Within minutes, he sealed up a few spots where the shingles were worn from a old satellite dish, and then reassured me that the roof has several years before it needs to be replaced.  This is after I got a recommendation for a new roof by a different contractor.  He then commenced to clean out my gutters, re-positioned the gutter angle, and fixed a few  broken connections.  He also gave me a few recommendations for proper runoff of the gutters.

John then came in the house to install two bathroom fans.  Both bathrooms were missing fans when I purchased the home.  John warned me that I was creating a situation that is very mold-inviting.  He not only installed the fans, but he also did a remediation of the possible spots of early mold growth. Both my bathrooms and myself are breathing better these days.

At the end of the day, John showed me how my dryer vent on the outside of my house was offset to the dryer duct work.  He cut a new hole to properly align the duct work and then reconnected everything.  To finish off the day, John cleaned out my dryer vent and probably saved my house in the process; there was a lot of junk in that duct. :)

I would use Madison Insulation and Mold Remediation again; I will use them again, as this house needs a lot of help.  I don't care what the negative people say on this company and neither should you.  If you want a good person to bring back the safety and reliability of your home for years to come, give John a call."

"It went fast.  They tore the roof and gutters off in half a day.  If it wasn't for the fact that there was a dumpster in our drive...I would not have known they tore the roof off. The yard was picked up everyday before they left.   The 2nd day the roof was put on.  The 3rd day by 3pm everything was done and the yard was picked up and the dumpster removed.

FAQs for recovery service service projects in Madison, WI

Yes, most standard homeowner insurance policies cover storm damage repairs. Your policy may cover some or all of the repair costs. After a storm, contact your insurance agent before starting any repair work. If you need to make temporary fixes, such as covering holes, keep all receipts for reimbursement purposes, and be sure to hire professionals to make major repairs for you, as this is often an insurance requirement.

Common signs of roof damage after a storm include missing, loose, or damaged shingles and dents or cracks on metal components like flashing and gutters. Water leaks and visible distortions also indicate damage. Rather than inspecting the roof yourself, it's safer to hire a qualified professional to assess and repair any storm-related issues.
