"Bob installed pegboard on the interior walls of our shed. He did a wonderful job. Before starting, Bob offered several options on how to install the material, which we then discussed, before agreeing on one. The work was done correctly and efficiently. Bob is a skilled and knowledgeable carpenter and pays attention to details. It was a pleasure to work with Bob and we expect to do so again on future projects."

Small jobs welcome

"I have used Mr. Handyman three times so far and will definitely use them again. It's been a joy to have a qualified person in my home who can take care of all the things on my TBD list, be they large or small, in a positive and professional manner. I think I had 9 things on my list the first time they came out, and everything was taken care of that same day. They are competent, focused, and there to help. Prompt, dedicated, great communication, and all the tools and supplies to get the job done. I felt their prices were reasonable, especially as the work was completely done when they left - no punch list, no coming back another day to finish. Cleaned up really well, too. I'm 100% satisfied."

"We have a house in Arlington that has been in our family for approx. 80 years that had fallen into complete disrepair and was in major need of a facelift.  we were the ugliest house on the street, without question.  I called multiple companies for bids, and I decided to use DLM after  mainly because Dave was the most responsive owner who actually seemed like he really wanted the business.  He came out to the house right away and met me to see what I wanted to do.  I felt comfortable from him from the beginning, as i asked many, many questions, and he patiently answered every one.  We went back and forth with very quick responses from him via email as i worked myself through the process of deciding exactly what I wanted to do (with his guidance).  I settled on having 35 windows replaced, and a full siding/aluminum trim job on my entire home, which was a pretty big project in my mind, as its a two family home, and there didnt seem to be any surfaces that werent in need of major work.  Dave assured me they did this all the time and if I chose his company I would be blown away by the results.  He was right.  The 35 windows were replaced in approx. 1.5 days of work,  The siding project, which was LITERALLY removing every piece of old shingle and then replacing 99% of our home with a new facade, was started on a friday, the guys returned on Monday, worked through the week including Saturday from 730 until 630 or later every night with MINIMAL breaks in HOT weather in August up on scaffolding. They took Sunday off, then completed the job on Monday.  The guys worked non stop.  I am blown away by the transformation.  My mother, who owns the house, cried when she saw the results.  Ive had multiple people go out of their way to stop me to tell me we now have the best looking house on the street.  if you had seen what our house looked like before, you would understand what a huge deal this is.  Throughout the process, people walking by would stop to stare and talk about the results.  I had two different people YESTERDAY who i dont know approach me outside of my house to get the contractors name and number.  The biggest compliment that I can give Dave and his workers at DLM, is that as they were cleaning up my house, getting ready to leave on the final day, my mother took Dave aside to ask her when she could talk to him about a project she wants to do at her house, and I was trying to convince him to allow me to get back on the schedule so I could pay him for more work.  If you would like a reference, my email is roconnor4444@rcn.com and I will gladly vouch for them, as I couldn't be happier with the results or their professionalism from start to finish. "Amazing! This is the second time I've used Daddy & Junior Paint and I am once again happy. The first project he did for me was a small job. Some ceiling repair and painting and I was very happy with the work he did so reached out to him for a much bigger project. Roldolfo removed a ceiling that had been ruined by a leaky roof and took the paneling off of the walls in a large space (approximately 700 SF). He then resheetrocked everything, mudded, painted and did the trim and crown molding. It came out beautiful. The space looks so much better than it did before. Much cleaner and the space actually looks bigger! Very happy and will gladly hire again for future projects."

"We originally bought a big deal on Angie?s List for a small bathroom remodel through Pros Home Services. After taking half of our money up front, Pros? quality of work was so bad, that 12 weeks into the bathroom remodel, we had to fire them. We needed a contractor ASAP to finish the work, since we were without a shower for 12 weeks - and Angie?s List recommended Mike
Foote.  We told Mike our situation and he showed up right away to go over the details.  He had several jobs at the time, but still found the time to fit us and help us out.  He was great. The previous contractors had no idea what they were doing and left the bathroom in a horrible state ? the subway tile was installed completely crooked, the drywall had to be ripped down again, the beadboard was installed in a way that would give us major water damage, etc.  Mike walked us through all of their major mistakes to make sure that we didn?t end up with a bathroom that needed to be gutted again in a few months.  He came up with ideas on how to fix all of their poor-quality work without having to gut the entire bathroom and leave us without a shower for several more weeks.  He was proactive, asked the right questions, walked us through design options, and communicated with us very clearly on the timeline each day.  Somehow, in about 3 weeks, he was able to fix all of the previous contactor?s mistakes and we ended up with a bathroom that we absolutely love.  We are very thankful that he was able to help us out during our horrible experience.  We learned in the process that you can?t trust many contractors but Mike Foote is definitely trustworthy and I would use him again for all future projects.  He?s very easy to work with, his quality of work is great, he works hard to ensure his clients are happy with the end result, and most importantly ? he communicates very clearly about the project.  We should also note that his team was also great to work with and we even ended up using his painter to repaint our entire foyer and bedrooms ? he also did an amazing job.

FAQs for shed, barn or playhouse repair projects in Marshfield, MA

You’ll know it’s time for a new shed roof if shingles curl or buckle, soft spots sag, or water stains appear inside. Moss or other plant growth on the surface is another red flag that moisture has breached the roofing layers. Replacing the roof quickly stops leaks from spreading, protects stored items, and saves you from costlier structural repairs down the road.

Choosing between a flat and a sloped shed roof comes down to climate, budget, and upkeep. A flat roof is cheaper up front, but still needs a slight pitch for drainage. A sloped roof sheds rain and snow more easily, lasts longer, and often needs less maintenance. Weigh your local weather patterns, the look you want, and how much time you’re willing to spend on upkeep before deciding.

A shed roof’s life span hinges on the material you choose and how well you maintain it. Most standard products last 15 to 30 years, while premium picks like slate or clay tile can protect the structure for 50 to 100 years. Regular inspections, fast fixes, and routine cleaning all help you reach the upper end of those ranges and keep your tools and gear dry year-round.
