"The contractor we choose for the granite countertops were fabulous.  We drove up to their showroom and explained what we wanted and the salesperson showed us their entire stock of Granite slabs.  We were interested in the grades of granite in the B, C and D range.  The salesperson did not try to push the A grades of granite but showed us what we wanted to see.  Once we picked the granite we wanted we schedule a time for the estimator to come to the house and take the measurements for the countertops and bathroom.  The estimator was a true professional who explained what he was looking for and also informed us that one of our cabinets was out of square and how to fix it before the granite arrived.

|

|On the day of installation, the installers were at the house at the time they informed us they would be there.  They were true professionals who knew exactly what they were doing and had to make custom cuts on the granite right on the job site.  They also noted that one piece of granite was not exactly to their liking and informed us they would not install that particular piece because they noticed a flaw and would have the company recut and re-polish the surface and be back the next day to install it.  I was very impressed because I had a hard time seeing the flaw until the main installer pointed it out to me.  They were true professionals and I recommend that if you want granite countertops, these are the people you want.   I have rated this company as A+++

"For several years, we’ve been planning to replace our kitchen counters. When Angie’s List promoted a deal offered by Jeffress Stone, we inquired whether this was the deal we’d been looking for. And it really turned out to be, from quality of the stone to craftsmanship to value. First, Jeffress sent us photos of the stones included in the deal. When we realized we couldn’t make a decision based solely on photographs, Jeffress arranged for us to visit their warehouse, where we were treated graciously. But we found something we liked much more than the samples, and feared that the up-sell would bust the deal. But the added cost proved to be reasonable and fair. Both direct contacts were professional and timely. Gary arrived a few minutes early to make measurements and the template, and that process took nearly two hours. As a result, the finished stone fit perfectly. Similarly, the installation crew arrived a few minutes early, and the owner, Dave, followed close on their heels. He was present throughout the entire installation. We were especially impressed by the care with which the crew mixed caulk to match our cabinets exactly for one tricky seam. The crew took care to clean up when the job was done and to make sure we were satisfied with the installation. We’ve received several compliments on the new look in our kitchen and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jeffress Stone."

"We needed to have our house to be restored in a short period of time. I called several companies, and among all people I spoke to, Anthony was the most responsive and punctual. He provided the estimate without any delay, and also the time his crew would take to finish the work. And he really finished it on time. The restored wood floor looks beautiful."

"George and his crew did an outstanding job! They were prompt, courteous, professional and really seemed to enjoy their work. George came to meet with us to estimate the work and provided us a quote within 1 business day. From estimate to completion, the team completed the job in 5 business days.
After day 1 we didn't like one of the colors we had chosen after seeing it on the walls. We talked with George about it and he was very accommodating, and just wanted to make sure we would be happy with the final results. This was a big change, but George only charged us for the cost of replacing the paint.
Overall, we were extremely happy with the quality of the work and would highly recommend George's painting to others!

"Overall we had a great experience with American Kitchen Concepts. We purchased an eighteen year old home that needed a little updating, particularly in the kitchen. We also wanted to continue the existing oak wood floors from the other rooms into the kitchen and family room (open kitchen concept). We decided the extensive flooring project should be done before moving in, so as soon as our offer was accepted and the home inspection was scheduled I contacted several companies that specialized in kitchen renovations to come out and give us a quote during the home inspection. Many of the contractors weren’t will to come out without us actually owning the home yet, but Dan Millard with American Kitchen Concepts was willing to meet with us. Dan was prompt and very accommodating during the home inspection. He was also easy going about the few other competitors that came out to give us similar quotes at the same time. What I enjoyed most about Dan in comparison to the other contractors was that he seemed trustworthy and willing to work with our budget to help us get what we wanted but could also afford. After we signed the contract with Dan he was great about assisting us with selecting our kitchen design. He wasn’t pushy or overbearing. He was helpful and gave suggestions when needed. The project did cost more than we originally expected, but this mostly due to the refinishing of the existing wood floors in the entire main level of the house so that the new wood floors in the family room and kitchen would match. And as far as timeline, the project stayed mostly on schedule. We had a one week delay at the start, but the project was completed before our official move in date. I’ve heard that delays with renovation projects are common, and that one week was minor compared to others experiences. I do think that our renovation was probably simpler than most. We didn’t reconfigure anything. Basically American Kitchen Concepts took out the outdated aspects of the kitchen and replaced them with a newer, updated look. Our renovation didn’t require moving any walls, or switching the plumbing around, or anything as complicated as that. We did have some changes to the electrical, but nothing too major. When I look at our new kitchen design I am really happy with the final product. Dan took the ideas that I suggested and made it a reality for us. We are more than satisfied with our kitchen remodel, and would recommend American Kitchen Concepts to others."

"

My home is 60 yrs. old and things go wrong occasionally and it obviously needs updating from time to time. I had Ruxton Design and Build renovate my bathroom several yrs. ago and have used them frequently ever since that time. When I had a flood in my basement due to a fence contractor error, Frank and his crew were there at midnight to help clean up and then came back to clean up the mess and restore the area. A similar event happened when my sump pump malfunctioned and I had to renovate the entire basement due to water damage and mold removal. Frank and his crew were responsive and thorough in redoing and upgrading the basement. He remodeled and upgraded the kitchen by replacing the floor, knocking out a wall and opening up the view in a marvelous manner and has replaced my siding and gutters. I will have him replace and upgrade my second bathroom in the future.

Frank and his office and crew are responsive and expert at what they do. His artistic background often makes choosing designs and colors easy rather than being a chore. The up to date software in his showroom can give a panoramic view of the proposed changes and design details in any project.

The projects have finished on or nearly on time in all the endeavors that he has done for me. I will use him again in the future.

"went very well.  representatives showed up on time/schedule, listened closely to my issues, identified solutions and provided very helpful recommendations (including ways to use space that would not have occurred to me).  original work was scheduled for 3 days; workmen did an exceptional job keeping my place clean so I did not have any cleanup issues, replaced about a dozen drawer fronts and slides so the drawers pull out and close smoothly and installed 25 new cabinet doors, and completed the job early.  I get raves from visitors who know what the old kitchen looked like; looks and feels like a whole new, quality kitchen.

"We have known Eric and Finer Remodeling since 2002.  He/they have done several projects in our home including: removing an old bay window and replacing with sliding French Doors; updating the heating in the rear of our home that was under served by our radiant system; and replacing plumbing to our second floor bath that included tearing out a substantial portion of our Living Room ceiling.  We live in a 1930?s home, Eric/Finer Remodeling has made every effort to maintain the style/integrity of our home so  hat all work looks seamless and original to the home.

When it came to remodeling our kitchen, our first and only choice was Finer Remodeling.  We knew that Eric would work with us to replace our severely dated and dark 1970?s kitchen to one that was more functional and consistent with the style of our
Colonial Revival home.  Our initial consultation consisted of measurements, a thorough discussion of needs/wants, and the decision to retain a galley kitchen vs. blowing it open to the adjoining Breakfast Room.  From that point, Eric and his
Kitchen Designer worked with us to design a kitchen that was brighter, more open, and significantly increased our storage.
From the start of the project until the end, Eric and his team arrived every day on time, worked diligently, cleaned up afterward, and kept us abreast of the project and next steps. The project started with a complete gut of out outdated kitchen and
opening it to the adjoining mud room/entry. From there they installed new/updated electrical, dry wall and installed
the new cabinetry.  In the adjoining Breakfast Room, they built a custom Butler?s Pantry that truly looks original to
the home.  All cabinets are antique white with and finished to the ceiling with a custom crown molding.  Counter tops are Black Pearl with a leather finish.  The kitchen was finished with white subway tile and grey grout.  Under cabinet lighting, pendent over the sink, and new lighting fixtures in the entry/Breakfast Room complete the renovation and bring cohesion to the three areas.

In the end we have what we originally desired, a brighter, and more functional and open kitchen that has more functionality. We knew that Eric/Finer Remodeling would do a great job but the end product has far exceeded all of our expectations and we regularly reflect on the awesomeness of the end product."
