Upon review, by my previous contractor, the system could not be repaired and would need to be replaced. "My Jaguar had been doing quirky things like downshifting to second gear, flashing the engine light, flashing parking brake on, etc.  I read a lot about the symptoms and was prepared to spend a lot of money based on what I was reading.  ABS was able to track the underlying problem without replacing parts.  The job was completed quickly after I explained that I needed it on a certain date.  As a woman, I feel comfortable that I am not going to get ripped off anytime there is a problem...although I know we are not the only ones who get taken.    I am happy that someone recommended ABS when I was stranded on the side of the road.

"Our service technician was David. He arrived earlier than expected and went straight to work. Our new pump was installed in less than one hour. We were pleased with the work. He came after hours 6:30pm and did not charge an exorbitant fee. He was pleasant and very informative when asked questions. If there was a topic he was not familiar with he answer "I'm not sure". I like reliable companies with professional employees. We had another plumber come earlier and wanted to charge us $452 dollars for a 1/2 HP pump that cost on average $242, $200 for accessories for installation (I paid $276 taxes included for pump and accessories), labor charge to go and pick up the pump and to install the pump. His price $1252. I was told that it was considered an emergency so that is why the price was so high. This was the morning two days after the flood. After we got the pump we called several times and no response as of yet, He's off my list completely. I share this illustration so that buyers can make educated decisions about how best to spend their money. I don't assume that the plumber whose charges were 50% higher than anyone else I called on Angies List. I simply say do your homework and know what is considered a fair price.
