"Levi Reed, Josh P. and John W. were very polite and professional. The communication was great. They explained what they did and answered any questions we had. They installed sister joists with floor jacks to stabilize the flooring."

"Denis Dougherty of Philadelphia Brick & Stone Pointing worked over the weekend to fix the chimney that was causing leaks on rainy days and he fixed some sagging bricks. I was away when he worked on them but everything was fixed when I came back. It's been a few months now and still no leaks even with heavy rain."

"In late fall, I noticed that a piece of a stone wall abutting my driveway had broken off and was drifting into the driveway. Concerned that the wall would fall into the driveway, I contacted Quinn Brothers Masonry. They came out within two days, assessed the situation and gave me an estimate. The work involved taking down both walls, knocking off old mortar on the stones, and removing ivy. After the walls were taken down, protective covering was placed on the exposed dirt, and drainage pipes and gravel were installed. They then rebuilt the walls, using the original stones. While rebuilding the walls, Patrick Quinn advised me that my stone house foundation had been compromised by paint and old mortar. I authorized additional work to restore the foundation. The paint on the stone foundation was removed and the old mortar was taken out. Then, the entire foundation had new mortar installed. I am extremely pleased with the results and will definitely hire them again."

"We had a shed pad installed for our new shed. Bob really worked to make sure we understood the different types of pads we could get as well as the ground leveling process. He was the only contractor we talked to that put the pad in the ground (excavating some dirt) so that it didn't just sit on top. As an added bonus, he swiped away a patch of really thick ivy that we've been struggling with. When scheduling the pad, he did delay the installation due to weather issues, showing real concern that if we didn't delay at least a day, the installation would be less than the professional level he likes to leave with. I left for the morning to go to work and when I came home, the pad was ready for a shed.
Bob shows a concern for his homeowner's well being in all matters and is very knowledgable. I fully recomend him to anyone seeking a similar install, and will consider Rock-a-fella's when ever I have a gravelly/patio/deck need in the future.

"All went well except for one misunderstanding, which I covered with another subcontractor. Project, as finished, is/will be almost completely invisible, which they went out of their way to help me accomplish. Very happy with price and job. And, most important, my basement is now dry!"

"We chose D&D Concrete based on the positive reviews on Angie's list and solid word of mouth referrals. Frank helped us to design our patio after we removed an existing deck. We also grew tired of parking our RV (weight of RV is 15K pounds) on a stone pad I built 8 years ago. Frank was quick to reduce our fears describing how he would prepare the pad with mesh, 10 inch base, and 4000 psi concrete. Frank assessed our plan and made timely suggestions to make the project work better, and we gained so much space with the patio. His team executed the entire project in a week's time. The patio looks great and the parking pad is still curing. Frank's team work with purpose all week to get the job completed, we have a small punch list that they will address."

"Happy with the work done.  Worked around some weather issues well.
Would use CMP again if/when we need other concrete work
Have also already recommended CMP to several other friends/neighbors that are looking for concrete work.
Price was very reasonable in my opinion.  Another Angie's List vendor quoted nearly twice the cost of CMP.

FAQs for concrete foundation raise projects in Media, PA

On average, it takes two to seven days to physically raise your house. However, this does not include the preparation work, which is often the most lengthy process. The entire project, including preparation, obtaining permits, disconnecting utilities, and any subsequent landscaping, can take four to eight weeks. This timeline ensures everything is done safely and that your home remains structurally sound.

If proper safety protocols are not followed, raising a house can cause severe damage, as the process involves applying controlled force to the home's structure. The risks involved make it crucial to hire a skilled contractor who uses engineered methods to secure your home and prevent any harm to your household.

If your foundation shows signs of instability after raising your home, you might need to add structural support. A structural engineer can assess your foundation and recommend reinforcements to ensure your house stays stable and safe for the long term. Available support options include installing additional piers or pilings, reinforcing existing footings, or using steel beams to distribute the load more evenly.

You will need a structural engineer to assess your home before you begin. These professionals determine whether your house is suitable for lifting and identify any issues that could compromise its stability. Their expertise ensures that the project is designed correctly and all risks are managed to achieve a successful lift.
