"We hired DFW pool Service to install a new heater for our pool. They were very friendly from Lacy on the phone to the service tech. The price was very fair and the service tech was knowledgeable and courteous. I definitely recommend them and will use them for any future need we have."

"We have relocated to the Carrollton area, Aquamaid has been servicing our pool for the last year. During that time they have been professional and always shows up ! Any situation, any issue there is always someone to help. Over the weekend our pressure was at "0" and in this heat you need circulation! The receptionist reached out to HAYLA the Area Supervisor to help us, She not only reached out but contacted the Branch Supervisor, BRANDON. When I went out late afternoon we had pressure and our pool was circulating, I never knew he had shown up and fixed our problem! This is going above and beyond, I can't say enough about the Aquamaid Gunter pool service.....did i mention Everyone is so friendly and will always to get the job done!!! GREAT JOB, GREAT TEAM!!! "We had been through several pool cleaning companies before finding 1st Rate on Angies List
They are by far, the best company in every category and then some.
Not only does our water look crystal clear each and every month, but they really care and take pride in their work.  Before, it was always a different person and I would discover something not quite right with pump, or pump basket or maybe the Polaris sweeper was broken and nothing was said or done.
NOW, with 1st Rate, the same person comes out ON TIME week after week (even on holidays or the day before) and if something is not working or needs tweaking , they inform me and take care of it immediately.  Once we had a minor leak from an old rubber seal and they took care of it on the spot at no charge.
I don't always take the time to write reviews unless I have had an exceptional experience with a company/business!
If you're looking for a pool cleaning company then look no further!
(on a side note, James, the owner has some excellent resources for other services like tree trimming, landscaping, etc)

"During 2 calls totaling 3.5 hours of work they cleaned the pool which was FULL of leaves. They also solved 3 other problems and included parts. The problems were 1) Polaris booster pump not working - they replaced a capacitor. 2) the large o-ring seal in the lid of the main pump had gone flat and was causing the pump to draw air - new o-ring. 3) The main pump was leaking between the pump and the motor causing the loss of water - replaced gasket, seal and o-ring. These are all problems that have plagued our pool for months and they quickly found and resolved the problems. In my opinion these folks know what they are doing."

FAQs for swimming pool heaters installation and replacement projects in Melissa, TX

Yes, you can add a heater to an existing pool. A pro can retrofit a heater to nearly any in-ground or above-ground pool. Adding a heater allows you to start the swim season earlier, finish it later, and maintain a steady water temperature in between. Many owners schedule the job during a larger pool upgrade, but it also works as a standalone project. Professional installation ties the new unit into the existing pump and plumbing for safe, efficient operation.

Most owners switch the heater on a day or two before they plan to swim, then shut it down afterward. Reaching the target temperature can take 24 to 72 hours, depending on pool size and outdoor conditions. Using a cover while the heater is off helps hold the heat and keeps energy costs in check.

Pool heaters can freeze if left exposed to extreme conditions. Freezing can damage internal heater components, potentially leading to costly pool repairs. Cycling water, covering the heater, and regular maintenance help prevent freezing. Sealing or winterizing your heater also protects it during the season—this involves draining water from the heater and its components.

Pool heaters operate with lifespans spanning from seven to 30 years. Gas and propane models last seven to 12 years, while electric and solar heaters perform efficiently for up to 30 years. Consistent professional maintenance and routine inspections extend the heater’s life and improve its performance, ensuring a safe and reliable heating system for your pool.

Before hiring a pool heater installation contractor, conduct thorough research by reviewing online feedback and gathering recommendations from trusted sources. Contact multiple professionals to discuss pricing, request references, and understand the complete installation process. This careful evaluation ensures you select a qualified contractor who delivers high-quality service and a successful installation.
