Katie first visited New Orleans in 1986 for a Superbowl, and she was sold then on the vibrant city. In 1998, she moved permanently and finished her last two years at Loyola University. She graduated with a BA in Sociology with a Women’s Studies Minor. She started the Women’s Issues Organization at Loyola. Her first job outside of college was working for Catholic Charities Refugee Resettlement Program. After five years of working in the immigration and refugees field, she decided to take a different path on resettlement. Her focus turned to helping others with residential acquisitions in historic New Orleans’ neighborhoods.
