"We hired the company to install a kit and descale our hot water heater. Techs showed up and seemed angry at how much work had to be done and the fact they forgot to bring a descaling kit. Techs never responded to questions during the process nor did they go over the work that was done. It was uncomfortable to have them in our house. After we contacted the owner “Frank” about the experience he informed us his brother in law was on the job and he didn’t need to listen to anymore from us. He said he has been in business for 21 years and didn’t need our business. It was truly shocking and we would strongly encourage anyone and everyone to avoid this company."

"On April 21, 2018, Ernest Serghi of American Plumber, LLC gave an estimate to replace the existing 1.5” underground gas line from the gas meter to the pool heater. This line is buried 30”. I told him that I wanted a 1.5” poly gas pipe buried 18” which was specified by the Holmdel plumbing inspector. He agreed to this and I signed the contract. On May 9, 2018, Ernest came to do the job and dug a narrow trench with a small hand-operated trenching machine and rolled out the yellow poly gas line, I measured the depth immediately and told Ernest that it was only about 12” deep and I wanted it 18” deep as he had agreed to. Ernest said the Code only requires a 12” depth and refused to dig the trench deeper. Ernest did the job in just 2 hours since he did not dig the trench 18 inches as he had agreed to. I have photographic evidence that in one area the gas line is only 9 inches deep. This is a violation of NJ Fuel Gas Code 404.9 that specifies a minimum burial depth of 12”. On May 10, 2018, the Holmdel plumbing inspector looked at the job quickly and approved it. However, he failed to measure the depth of the gas line and did not realize that it did not meet the minimum burial depth required by the Code. In the contract job description, Ernest did not specify in writing the 18” burial depth of the gas line that he had agreed to. I should have required this wording since Ernest did not honor our verbal agreement. I have contacted American Plumber, LLC several times in an attempt to have them correct the code violation and adjust the contract price to reflect the work that was actually done. Instead of trying to correct their error, American Plumber, LLC is demanding payment in full and filed with the Clerk of Monmouth County a Notice of Unpaid Balance and Right to File Lien against my property. I have filed complaints about this unscrupulous and dishonest contractor Ernest Serghis of American Plumber, LLC with the NJ Department of Consumer Affairs and Better Business Bureau."

"Dear Michael & Son Customer Service Team, I am writing to formally express my disappointment and frustration with the lack of service I received today. As a customer enrolled in your Unlimited Service Plan, I expect timely communication, reliability, and a basic level of professionalism. Unfortunately, today?s experience fell well below those expectations. The service provided was inadequate, and the lack of follow-through and responsiveness was unacceptable?especially for a customer paying for a premium plan that is advertised as offering priority care and peace of mind. Being on the Unlimited Plan was a key factor in my decision to continue doing business with your company. Experiences like this call that decision into question. I did not feel valued as a customer, nor did I receive the level of service your company promotes. I would appreciate a follow-up to discuss this matter and understand how you intend to resolve it. "Worst Choice Plumbing doesn’t even deserve 1 star. Avoid at ALL costs. Our adjacent neighbors hired them to fix a leaky pipe, which required them to dig up our sidewalk. Well they never compacted the dirt or set up any water prevention measures while the dirt needed to settle and the sidewalk collapsed on itself as a result, causing CATASTROPHIC flooding in our basement AND their client’s basement. The FIRE DEPARTMENT had to come out and shore up the hole to prevent any further collapse. We called L&I and when Worst Choice caught wind, they immediately sent a crew to actually add the preventative measures they should have added to begin with. Too little too late. The concrete company they contracted with to finally pave over the trench even admitted to us their work was not industry standard. They refuse to admit liability despite being in violation of multiple standards. Do not hire unless you want to be out a minimum of $30k! 0/5 stars!"
