"Our main water line was leaking with hardly any pressure to our house. Upon calling Holmes Excavation the Friday before Christmas, they were up at our house within 90 minutes. After agreeing to their services, they arranged for the locate services for electric, gas, and phone before the end of the day and before the weekend to prepare for their work starting on Monday. Our water service was restored by the end of the day on Monday, and they finished backfilling the next day--2 days before Christmas! While their equipment was still at our house, my wife asked if they could pull out some nasty roots from her garden. "My old water heater went out yesterday and of course leaked water all over. I shut it off and stopped the leaking. Called early this morning looking for someone to install a new one. Jim was actually sent over by another plumber who could not get to my job right away. Jim showed up, looked at the job, we talked about the options and he gave me a bid. Let to get the new water heater. We back in about thirty minutes. He had to make some changes to the water and gas lines. Added shut offs and installed new one. Took the time to explain operation and maintenance of the new one. Cleaned up the work site. Removed all debris and old water heater. I was impressed with his work and his attitude.

"Called about leak Sunday morning. Plumber came out Monday, determined it needed replacement and notified Choice, who approved claim and permitted plumber to order new water heater. Thursday new water heater was installed. Was kept updated every day by both Choice and the plumber. Workers left my garage clean and I have hot water. Very satisfied and have recommended Choice Home Warranty on the Nextdoor app."

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."
