"Woke up with no heat! Right before Christmas! Harris responded instantly and sent out someone to check the problem. Due to incorrect installation, rain had gotten into the improperly sealed roof vents, which in turned fried the transformer, inducer and circuit board. They were at my place bright and early the next morning installing a brand new furnace, more efficient and quieter, with a 10 year warranty. Arranged financing and were finished by 3pm. "Install guys were nice and clean. They did forget to seal the gas exhaust pipe properly. A tech came back out that night to seal the PVC piping after I called them about it. Nice reaction but letting carbon monoxide exhaust leak into my basement in the first palce was not a quality job. The salesperson while polite was not aware that the three zone heating on my existing equipment was not compatible with the new Carrier system to be installed. Rather than confirm it with his manager he stated specifically that there would be no problem and the techs would demonstrate the zone heating before they left. Halfway thru the install the techs let me know that the zone controls would not work with the new system and I had to pay extra to make that work. Ok, lesson learned, never accept what the salesperson says only what they write on the order. Eventually I paid for the new board to be installed. Of course the new board is a special order and a week later and multiple calls I still do not have a date for if and when the install will be completed even though I have paid in full. Why the Install team does not confirm that the equipment is on order and when it might be installed is beyond me. I am patient but they need to keep the customer informed. As to the new Carrier Heat Pump and Gas furnace. Working beautiful now that they have sealed the exhaust pipe."
