"Nick and his team completed a whole house re-pipe, including replacing our water main line, relocating & installing a new water heater, and re-positioning a gas pipe for our dryer - in May of 2018. They finished the job in a day and a half. He was a pleasure to work with and had great communication - all at a very competitive price. Fast forward to this past weekend and the valve on the water main line had cracked and was gushing water on the side of our house. I called Nick late in the afternoon on Saturday - and while he was unable to make it out (on his day off - he was out of town for the day) he arrived at 8am on Sunday to replace the valve. I have recommended Nick and his team to several friends and neighbors! Excellent service!"

"This is perhaps the best experience I have had with a contractor ever. Superb. Very knowledgeable, responsible, and responsive. Even though they were expensive they did an assessment of adequacy of our gas line capacity which gave me confidence it was done right. <br />"

"I had an exceptionally positive experience with this company. I urgently needed to replace a leaking gas water heater, and they promptly scheduled the job on the same day, even on a Sunday. Their plumber, Austin, demonstrated a high level of professionalism and thoroughness in addressing all issues related to the water heater replacement. The final bill was quite competitive, aligning well with the industry average among reputable companies."

"I have copper supply lines and wanted to replace an old outdoor hose bib. Inside the house, the supply pipe was right next to (almost behind) a newer large demand water heating system, and the cold water supply pipe touches the 3/4" natural gas supply line feeding into my demand water heater. Changes were needed in the water supply pipe to adapt the new hose bib. Needless to say, open flames and sweat fitting next to that large active gas supply line was inadvisable, to say the least. O'Neill Plumbing installed a no-solder cold press fitting system for 3/4" copper pipe that is fast, reliable and retains the copper continuity of the system. The plumber installed the fitting, extended the pipe to a position where he could install the new hose bib, and adjusted the length so the hose bib fit perfectly on a wood "bib block" trim piece (which I bought in advance from a hardware store) that makes the final installed hose bib look very professional. I had another problem with a drain pipe from the kitchen sink, where--in the basement--the pipe had separated from the feed pipe going towards the sewer line. I asked him to look at that, though it was not included in the original job. He looked at it, made a good-looking and tight repair, and added a few minutes to the time. The overall bill was within my planned budget, and my house water supply was shut off only for a short time during the copper pipe repair. I'm very satisfied."

"Replacing our laundry tub turned out to be a much larger job than anticipated.  We experienced a huge leak at the wall, requiring us to shut off the water.  It was late on a Saturday night.  <br /> We checked Angie's List for 24 hour plumbers.  Called South County Plumbing, and were told they'd have someone out within 30 minutes.  Rey Romero arrived right on time.  He replaced the part which had blown, answered many questions and tested the new laundry tub connections. <br /> Everything went perfectly.  He was here exactly 42 minutes, which he reflected on the receipt.  Absolutely no inflating of his time.  <br /> The downside is that we had to pay double-time for after 9pm service, but had we waited until Sunday, it still would've been double-time.  We were not going to wait until Monday for water and were so happy that we found such a reliable plumber. <br /> We received the 10% Angie's List discount, which really helped.  We will not hesitate to contact South County Plumbing if we need assistance again.  Rey Romero was great.  <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Oak Harbor, WA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
