"The project seemed to turn into something unexpected. I have a flush-up toilet that needed a new macerator installed. The pipes were realigned and the macerator installed, but the toilet didn't seem to work right. Their technician Mark immediately went into figuring out what could be wrong. Checking the pipes, analyzing the owner's manual, and calling the manufacturer of the toilet. He ran a few tests and figured out what was wrong. "They came out and removed our old furnace and replaced it with a new 95% direct vent 2 stage energy efficient lenox furnace. We had problems with our chimney as well which weren't worth fixing. We had an estimate first, and the guy was very helpful. We had some issues with our gas forced air furnace (it didn't like to work in the cold),  and our chimney wasn't venting properly, which is very dangerous.  The guy who did the estimate was very informative and down to earth. He told me I needed to have the chimney checked out before they could install a new heater. So we did. By the time we would have paid for a new regular furnace to be installed and have our chimney repaired, it would have cost over twice as much. So, going with the more efficient direct vent furnace was the more economical way to go. The installers were great. I'm just happy the basement is clean and the house will be nice and warm this winter! Also, don't forget to call and ask the office staff for rebate information. Another company had come to give an estimate and it was just as much for the install of their lower end, chimney vented furnace as CHUD's install of the direct vent furnace. Very nice company. Totally professional. We still have a chimney, but we don't use it, and that's fine with me!"

"Murphy's Plumbing replaced a portion of our sewer line. Jeff presented us with a cost efficient and minimally invasive solution, involving running our line above ground and under our oil tank. He assured us this is "not a big deal". Other plumbers were more alarmist recommending tearing up a lot of our concrete floor or even draining and removing our oil tank to run the line under ground. Steve and crew were extremely efficient and clean, completing the work exactly as expected and on time. Listening to the crew work in the basement, I could tell they are very concerned with doing quality work and have a lot of pride for their trade. Sewer issues are miserable, but Murphy's presented a level-headed and simple solution and took the stress our of the problem. I hope we never need a plumber again, but the reality is we will be hiring them again!"
