"Frank was prompt , courteous and took off his shoes when entering the house. Frank was very personable and you can tell was concerned about doing a good job. The original reason I called him out was that my sump pump was running more often than normal due to a leak. I thought the leak was from outside. Frank found was the toilet in the basement that was causing the issue.
Frank also took the time at the end to give me advice on a DIY project I am going to tackle soon. Frank is definitely worth calling and I have added to my favorites on Angie's list.

"He was very fast and efficient. Took him only a few minutes to install. I then remembered I had an outside electrical outlet that was loose. He said no problem and had it fixed in 5 minutes. It works perfectly and is no longer a shock hazard. I tried to give him some extra money but he refused. He was very polite and said just one service charge. "AMAZING !! I contacted Clavier Electric for a 2nd opinion when the 1st company I called gave me an estimate of $8,624.00 to find and repair what was causing the power outage in my family room. I saw Clavier Electric was listed on Angi's List and had excellent reviews and called them. That call SAVED me $8,484.00. Yes, that is correct - $8,484.00. Justin and his helper found the problem immediately (something with a wire in a wall outlet); repaired it; then repaired a ceiling light fixture; and next, a guest bath light in a little over an hour. My home is an older lake home that has been remodeled and added on over the years making the electrical system much more complicated than a new construction would have been. I think Justin is an expert at solving complicated electrical problems related to housing, especially older homes. I feel so fortunate to have found Justin and Clavier Electric. They will be the first company I will call when I have any electrical problem in the future."

"The landing on my basement stairs was collapsing, and since I use the stairway multiple times a day to access my backyard, it needed to be repaired as soon as possible. John responded to my concerns in a very timely manner. After examining the stairway, he identified the problem within a few minutes and securely attached the frame of the landing to a concrete header before bolstering the entire stairway with cross braces. The stairway now feels more sturdy than it’s ever been. I was so impressed by John’s strong work ethic, his timeliness in responding to my concerns, his honesty in charging me a fair wage for his work, and his willingness to demonstrate how he intended to fix the problem. I have an older house that’s overdue for several repairs and remodeling projects that are perfect for a good handyman’s skills, and I will definitely call on John again."

"Technician came to the house and analyzed the problem. It was determined that the cost of repair was over the allowable Choice Home Warranty limit and it should be replaced. Choice Home Warranty issued their replacement cost. This cost was unacceptable and I challenged their figure. After some negotiation I was offered an increased settlement amount. I still balked at their offer but I was told to take it or repair my old microwave. I finally accepted their amount, even though it is still well below what it will cost me to replace the unit. I might add that the existing microwave has the convection feature and I want to replace with same features. The cost that I will receive also does not include any removal, disposal or installation costs. At this time I am debating whether I will continue with Choice Home Warranty or consider other options."

Everything went very well, from the first meeting with Randall Lake to the final completion of the work.  Jose and his crew were punctual and a pleasure to work with.  They did a thorough job power washing the fence to remove all residue and, after allowing the wood to dry, they did a good job applying the fresh paint.  The fence looks better than new, and that's no exaggeration.

The work with the repair to the PVC ornamental shutters and "loft door" also went well.  The shutters were on windows at ground level, so the work was easily performed with a step ladder.  The "loft door" presented more of a challenge since it was on a wall above the first floor roof.  They had to climb to the roof and place another ladder to reach the top of the "loft door."  They filled all the holes with wood filler, which they sanded after it had dried.  They applied sealant in all the joints, and they repainted to match the original color.  The result was excellent.

Cost of this work was very reasonable, especially considering some of the difficulty with the work high on the roof.  The total cost for everything was about $185, including sales tax.

I should mention that my neighbors got onboard with the fence painting, so Jose and the crew did three fences, all at a cost of $100 apiece.  We are all happy with the work and the cost, and I know that I'll use Randall Lake and his people again.
