"I've used Mike Dowell's services before and this was another great job. This time my young son had accidentally broken an arm off one of our dining room chairs. Mike fixed it quickly and at a fair price. I dropped off the chair and picked it up at his shop. I don't know anything about wood working or carpentry, but the place was neat, clean, and very well organized. It's an unassuming place and easy to miss -- it's actually a unit within a corrugated metal mobile container in a corner of a recently developed townhouse/ condo development in a corner of Bel Aire on an edge with a state park (state forest?). If you go up some of the back roads coming from Baltimore it's actually a quite pretty drive for some of it - it follows a stream through park and farm land. <br /> In any case, I anticipate calling on Lauer Furniture Restoration again in the future.  <br />"

"After shopping for barrel chairs I found that to replace my 2 chairs in the same quality was extremely expensive. As I felt the bones of the chairs were in excellent shape but the upholstery was old and tattered, I decided to find out how much reupholstering would cost. I called Clifton Upholstery and they responded immediately. After talking to Bob on the phone, he came to my home and presented material samples in the color choices I had asked for. The materials he presented were very high quality. I also decided to have him give me estimates on 4 cafe chairs and an office arm chair. After accepting his pricing on all, Clifton Upholstery came and picked up the chairs and the work was done and returned in a comfortable time frame (about 3 weeks). The quality of work exceeded my expectations and I am very happy with the results. If you have quality furniture that can be refurbished, it can be very cost effective and smart to do so. "We had several estimates from different contractors for our project which consisted of replacing 12 interior doors.  Our house is old and the existing doors are all of different sizes.  Some contractors were not interested in doing this work because it entailed carpentry skills and special tools.  Mr. Prince was willing to take on this project and he came with good reviews. His price was not the least expensive but we felt comfortable having him work on our house.  <br /> Mr. Prince completed the project.  There were a few delays because of the weather but that was understandable.  We feel Mr. Prince was responsive and prompt.  The job was completed and we are happy with the results. I would recommend him to others that have a project that requires professional carpentry skills. <br />"
