"Service Professor was up front and honest right from the start. We had our vintage 1985 gas furnace replaced with a 92% efficient new model and air. While they were here they also replaced our water heater ( also 1985 vintage ), and an electrical upgrade. Now were "up to code"."

"A++ Clog-Busters!! We called in the early morning and they were out to our house within a couple of hours. We will definately recommend this company to friends and family! Chris V., the plumber, who was professional and knowledgeable, came to our house and within an hour he had diagnosed, and de-clogged the main drain, and re-set the toilet. He also left our house clean of the debris pulled from the drain. Thank-you!"

"He did a very nice job putting it in. I have experienced no leaks in the months since it was put in. He was punctual and polite. <br /> His clean-up of the job site after completion was great. <br />"

"I had been having problems with our tank water heater when returning from Florida. I solicited bids from three plumbers for a tankless water heater. One wanted to charge me just for providing an estimate so didn't request one from that plumber. A second plumber had provided a quote for a medium size tankless water heater and was NOT going to run a new gas line, even though the Navien brochure indicated that a half inch gas line could be used only up to 24 feet (the gas line in our house was 45 feet from the gas meter to the water heater location. <br /> Miles Plumbing provided a very competitive price including the largest size Navien tankless water heater and adding a second 3/4 inch gas line for the water heater. The day after receiving their quote and scheduling the installation, our tank water heater stopped working. Miles moved up their installation date to the next day and had the job completed that day with a crew of four plumbers. They were extremely friendly, professional and took great care not to soil any part of the house while doing the installation. During the installation, Mr. Malone told me that the pressure switch on our water pressure tank (we have a well) needed to be larger to make the water heater work right. He also installed the larger switch for only the cost of the switch. Now in addition to a new water heater, we have much better water pressure in our house. <br /> We love the new water heater and the peace of mind of not having to worry any more about a leaking or non-functioning water heater. We have used several different plumbers over the years and Mike Malone and his crew are by far the best. <br />"

"<p>They started by removing everything from the bathroom except for the toilet. I am an 81 year old woman with only one bathroom so this was a problem. Everyone who worked on the bathroom was very kind, professional and did their best to make things easy and comfortable for me, including one young man that made extra trips to make sure I had a working toilet every night. I've never worked with a more hard working, polite and caring group of young men. I had included replacing the sink drains behind the wall because I have had a slow draining or completely plugged sink drain many times. When they started doing this, they found a pipe that was starting to break so they had to replace that and the 4 inch waste and vent pipe from above the toilet to the basement floor. Shawn added a very moderate price to the original proposal. The bathroom is beautiful. They did an excellent job on the tiling, both on the floor and in the shower. I have absolutely no complaints on anything that was done to complete this project. I would highly recommend Miteff Plumbing for any project small or large. They deserve an A+ rating.</p> <br /> <br />y i <br />"

"Very helpful and considerate! Larry has accomplished what 2 other contractors couldn't and has been more than fair with cost. So far, excellent experience. He is working on a permanent fix for a situation created by a careless installer nearly one year ago. Would recommend him to anyone!  Thank you Larry! <br />"

"I called because the gas was going off when I turned on the gas logs of the fireplace.  He came within the hour on a Saturday, explained and showed what the problem was and how it would be repaired.  He then returned the logs in a nice fashion and cleaned up all debris.  A very satisfactory result all around. <br />"

"Ever since we purchased the house 2 years ago, the gas logs have not worked. We had 3 service calls, all to no effect, until we found Aspen. The two workers stuck with the problem until they figured it out. It required two different trips; they came when they said they would, were very polite, protected the area where they were working and cleaned up afterwards. In the process of their work, the grill on the front of the fireplace was slightly scratched (so they told us--we had not noticed) and they painted it before they left. We were completely satisfied with their work and would strongly recommend them."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Onondaga, MI

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
