"Our furnace went out a few days ago on the home my husband and I recently purchased. We have a home warranty and after filing a claim to have someone look at it we were directed to this company. I called them immediately following filing the claim to speak with someone about what was going on. There was a tech at my home within an hour of that phone call and the problem was fixed right away. I am blown away by the customer service as well as professionalism this company has shown us today. I will, without hesitation, call for any services needed in the future."

"When installing a new refrigerator, the knob to turn the water off fell off in the service man’s hand and water was going everywhere. We had to turn the water off to the whole house. In a panic I found Home Advisor and after inputting my info, Amy from Mr. Rooter called within five minutes. After looking at her schedule, she said a tech would show up in 30-60 minutes. Don’t remember the time exactly, but Mike D. showed up in about 35-45. After inspecting the problem, he gave me an estimate. He said that there was a slow leak that had messed up the drywall and he had to cut it out. He installed all new pipes, bought a 2x4 because the new box was smaller than the old box and basically redid the entire site. Mike was so nice and explained everything he did. He realized that I was stressed and made every effort to make this process as easy as he could. If the service men would have brought the new refrigerator inside, Mike D. would have installed it for me. (They came back later and there were no issues installing the new fridge). When I first got the estimate I thought it was high, but I had no choice. In retrospect, I received much more value for my money. I will hire Mr.Rooter and Mike D. for any future plumbing projects."

"When my boiler/hot water heater system malfunctioned and water was pouring out rapidly in my basement, as a single mom who had never encountered anything like this before, I didn't even know where to begin. I made several calls trying to find someone who would be willing and available to help and couldn't find anyone to come out for a couple days (even the emergency 24 hours/day numbers!). So thankful that my last call was to Home Advisor and within minutes, Alan (the owner) called me wanting to help. Alan was AMAZING and helped me walk through what to do over the phone to temporarily resolve the problem until more advanced troubleshooting could occur the next morning. If I ever have any issues with heating or electrical services in the future, Alaska Breeze Mechanical will be my first call!"

"I'm very happy with the service I received from Edge Plumbing. I had an emergency with my plumbing and needed my drain cleaned out the night before a holiday. Travis responded almost immediately upon choosing him as one of the plumbing services near me. He came over that night, and then returned the next morning at 8 AM. Very prompt and communication was constant. He got my drains all cleaned out, but found a break in my line which needed to be repaired. He identified where the exact location of the break and was very helpful working with the excavator to get my line repaired. I'm very pleased with his service, communication, timeliness, and very fair cost. I would definitely use Edge Plumbing again."

"John at Drain Doctor is absolutely excellent. He was easy to work with, fast, and reasonably priced! He installed a new gasline for my stove a few months ago, and he hooked up our new water heater and did every part of the job excellently. Looks and operates perfectly. If I ever have any plumbing issues or new work, I am calling John!"

FAQs for water heater repair or service projects in Oregon, OH

Warning signs include fluctuating water temperatures, a pilot light that repeatedly goes out, unusual noises from the tank, or complete heating failure. You might also detect a rotten egg smell, indicating a potential gas leak, or notice water that never reaches the proper temperature. If your water heater is over eight years old and displaying these symptoms, the gas valve is a likely culprit. Professional inspection is recommended, especially if gas odors are present.

Water heater gas valves are not universally interchangeable. Each valve must match your specific water heater's make, model, and specifications. Important compatibility factors include gas type (natural gas vs. propane), BTU rating, connection types, and physical dimensions. Using an incorrect valve can result in poor performance, premature failure, or dangerous gas leaks. Always consult your water heater's documentation or a professional plumber to identify the appropriate replacement valve for your unit.
