"I am in the commercial construction business, found this vendor through Angie's List... Recently my in-laws' had their entire basement flooded, yes, 9' HIGH OF STORM WATER filled to the ceiling, completely ruined a finished basement, HVAC, electrical panel, etc. Armor Restoration gave us a competitive price, and both Norman and Bob were very responsive to our requests, very service-oriented. Armor was prepared to mobilize and git-r-done. They brought out two crews to hand-fill (two!) 30-cubic-yard dumpsters full of ruined stuff and materials. They helped us sort through salvageable personal items, and gave us great advice on just about everything we had questions about. Before they started, the basement was beyond awful smelling (some sewage waste got in too) and making the rest of the house smell too. In two days of working, removal was done, basement was stripped to bare concrete, cleaned, treated with anti-microbial spray, and smelled very clean. Incredible. The workers were all very professional, courteous and took great care to protect the pathway in-out of the basement, which was through the front door. If I had my house flooded, or smoke-damaged, I would hire Armor Restoration in a hot minute. Can't say enough good things about them. Thanks again for being awesome."

"We scheduled an appointment for an estimate with Justin LeBlanc, from Adam Contracting LLC for Saturday, May 9th at 7:30AM. We woke up early in order to meet with Justin. Justin never showed, never called and never emailed us letting us know that he couldn't make it. I emailed him later in the morning asking him why he missed our appointment. I received an email the following day from him apologizing for missing the appointment. He said he had a family emergency and we could reschedule. A courtesy email that takes 30 seconds to write stating that he couldn't make it would have been appreciated. In my eyes, no call and no email to let me know he couldn't make it demonstrated that he didn't have much respect for my time considering I arranged my weekend to meet with him that morning. I understand situations arise but I find it incredibly rude to not let the other person know that you can't make it.
We rescheduled with Justin for 8AM the following Saturday. Justin arrived on time and we showed him the two projects we wanted to have completed. Justin said he would have an estimate to us by Monday or Tuesday. I received an estimate from him on Monday. The first project was a small ground level 69 sq ft deck. Justin quoted the estimate for this project to be $3,725 for supplies and labor! We went to Lowes ourselves and bought all of the wood, concrete, AND tools for $243!. Over $3,400 in labor is a lot to me for such a small project.
The second estimate was to replace 6 hollow core slab interior doors (Doors only, not the frame), 8 bi-fold closet doors, and the front door. The estimate for this project only included labor since we are ordering all of the doors ourselves. The estimate for the labor for this project came back at $3,825. I emailed him stating this I believed this estimate was extremely high. He stated the cost of the front door to install was $575, which is reasonable to me given the complexity of the install. That means he is charging $3,250 in labor only for interior doors and closet doors. This translates to a labor cost of $232 per door.
He said the best he could do would be to take 10% off for being an Angie's List member... I asked him to redo the estimate if we took all of the old doors off ourselves and we stained the deck ourselves. He came back with an estimate of $6,400 for both projects. I thought this was still incredibly high for how small these projects were. I told him we would not be moving forward with this estimate.
It was a very disappointing experience and we were hoping we would be able to use this company for other projects in our home.

"Sometimes making the wrong choice brings the right one into clearer view. It is with this mindset that we post this review for Chris Marshall, the choice we should have made that we did not. We had just experience plumbing-related, water damage to our home. Our floors were removed and the tile exposed now was breaking up and being tested for asbestos. Though we were a ways away from the reconstruction phase still, we started researching contractors/contracting companies. We found Chris, who looked wonderful on paper and gave him a call. It is been roughly six months now since I made that call, so I am not sure if he answered right then or called back, but I ended up talking to him the same day. It was late in the work day, so when he offered to come by to just talk to us and check out the damage, we were really surprised-- and thought there was not any way that would really happen. At about 6 p.m., he called and said he would, in fact, come out that evening, if it was okay. We agreed, and he did. He was professional, very easy to talk to, patient, and seemed willing to work with us. In the days and weeks that followed, he quickly responded to all our calls and messages; made a couple more house calls; referred another industry service provider (another mistake we made: not going with his recommendation); provided impeccable documentation for his licensing, insurance, experience; invited us to check out his work personally by visiting a home he would just built; went back and forth with us about estimates, and adjustments to those estimates, and scheduling. While his quote ended up being higher than we could afford, it was not unreasonable. At the time though, we could not get our insurance to play ball and did not feel confident we could absorb the difference between the settlement and Chris quote. During this time, my husband considered a contractor whose family attends the congregation we also attended. The family had fallen on hard times recently, and his thought was, We are going to give the job to someone; why not bless a family within the congregation? I was strongly against this as 1) I worried about the possible pitfalls of doing business with someone too familiar, and 2) I was already settled on Chris. He had already gone over and beyond as far as I was concerned. Despite these concerns and reservations, I appreciated my husbands heart and decided to support and trust his decision. Regrettably, it turns out I was right. (This is a conclusion he reached on his own as he saw corners being cut, expressed concerns disregarded, and diverse workmanship issues.) That arrangement went horribly, and, in the end, we had to fire this contractor before our home was even far enough along to move back in. Thankfully, family and friends came to our aid and helped us finish up well enough to get us back in our home, refusing to take any money from us at all. Our home insurance co. assigned a post-reconstruction clean-up and restoration service to"
