"I had an incredible experience working with Palencia Masonry. They offered a great quote, started my project within a few days, and finished quickly. They built me a new step with a herringbone pattern that looks absolutely incredible. The rest of the repointing work also looks wonderful. 10/10 would recommend and hire again."

"Fantastic! Joe and his crew worked tirelessly and professionally to replace two large decks on our house. The finished product looks great and was done ahead of schedule. Joe is a great communicator and comes out to make sure the site is setup right, his materials are organized correctly and that everything runs smoothly. Highly recommended!"

"Despite the terrible weather this March and the fact that they had to remove two old patios. not one, Lithic installed a beautiful Asian blue stone patio in the time projected There was a big, and unanticipated demolition job, and the masons had to be careful that a good foundation was laid for the new patio. The work was done in a very craftsmanly fashion, and since our patio adjoins our home and is almost and extension of the living room and dining room we were particularly pleased with how artfully the stones are laid. We have received so many compliments on our new patio. Aesthetics are important to us, and Lithic did fine work."

"Kennard Moore, the owner, was quick to respond to a request for quote. He came on time and provided the estimate within 24 hours. His estimate was in line with another I had received. I chose Moore Masonry because of their deep knowledge masonry in my area and the replacement challenges of getting a correct match to older work. Also, as part of his visit he recommended a company that could do repair welding and refurbish my rusted, steel stair railings while we fixed the brick. This recommendation was invaluable as it saved me several hundred dollars over similar quotes.
After I got the rails repaired and ready Kennard scheduled the work to occur 2 weeks later. His mason was on time and worked very hard to ensure the replacement brick would be matched perfectly with the existing brickwork. He was professional, polite, and very focused on doing an excellent job as opposed to just trying to be quick. All the repairs were completed in a few hours and they look excellent. He also reset and cemented the stair railings in the brickwork.
They cleaned up after themselves, were very professional, and did excellent work. I am grateful they would take on a relatively small job and do it so well."

"Did two fact finding visits. After the second visit a promised email didn't appear, but a phone call got everything moving again. All the stoves Wooden Sun sells are high quality, and the price reflects the quality. The installation by Dwayne and Cindy was clean, quiet, competent, and efficient. Definitely recommend."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Palmyra, VA

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
