"Working with Mike was a wonderful experience. We communicated weekly for months during the construction of my home. At the time, I was living in another state and had full confidence that my home would be a superior project under Mike's guidance and direction. Eleven years later my home is still standing. Individuals who visit my residence marvel at the construction, details and features that mark Mike's gifted abilities. Most importantly, Mike is an honest man and a person of integrity. In an industry where many builders produce a inferior product or "cut corners", Mike did not subscribe to those devious business practices. Mike was entrusted with the biggest financial investment I had ever made while I lived in another state. Some individuals thought I foolish to place so much trust in this contractor. I however was not disappointed at the results. In fact he exceeded my expectations. Eleven years later a relationship that began as a business arrangement evolved into a family friend."

"Simply put, Brian Miller is the best contractor we have ever worked with--either in West Virginia or any other state we have lived in. It actually took a year to find Brian while we went through six other contractors who were less than satisfactory for different reasons. During our year long search, one contractor left our house for Home Depot and never returned and one highly rated contractor would only estimate the job through pictures and a visit from their sales representative (a process which  took two frustrating months). In contrast, Brian spent about 20 hours with us planning the project. We initially talked about replacing the deck and patio under it, but the house had been neglected for years and the previous owner had done a lot of work that wasn't up to code. As a result, work on the deck--and only the deck--could have caused significant damage to our kitchen (which was on top of an enclosure that lacked proper footers). Brian brought out a structural engineer on several occasions and they designed a fix that was easily accepted by the County permitting office and also allowed him to create a beautiful pattern with the wood deck. The demolition actually began the first week of January and the weeks got progressively colder. Brian's team worked at an incredible speed in brutally cold weather. Brian was meticulous in measuring and laying out the footers and deck flooring--working all day in weather that left us frozen after a half hour. During the permitting process, the county said we had to replace our septic system to bring it up to code. Brian actually contacted someone to do the job in two weeks from start to finish--so it didn't impact the rest of the scheduled work at our house. After finishing the deck, the team created a beautiful paver patio underneath it. All the work was beautifully done--even the cinder block and framing under the kitchen--which isn't visible outside the house. The team also replaced rotting wood along the bottom of the house with cinder block and proper outside wood and then replaced siding on that portion of the house, choosing siding that matched the rest of the house. Brian and his team truly took the house from neighborhood eyesore to neighborhood gem. All the neighbors have told us how nice the house looks. Interestingly, everyone has also remarked on how hard the team worked, noting that they never saw them hanging around--rather they worked all day. We are already talking to Brian about another project and highly recommend him. <br />"

"I was very excited to get brand new windows because the old ones were in such a bad state; however, since this was a big job that cost a lot of money, I was nervous at the same time. I can honestly tell you that all of the people I experienced during this process were extremely professional and I would highly recommend them. I purchased the Pella Architectural Series windows. I know that I could have gone with a vinyl or fiberglass window, but I had my heart set on Pella wood windows. These windows are beautifully crafted and have made such a difference to the look of my home, as well as the temperature. My house is so warm now and the look is truly elegant. Everyone that I encountered in this process was warm, organized, and thoughtful. Rob (the salesman) was punctual and sat with me for a few hours designing the plan. I never felt rushed or pressured. He was very patient with the revisions I kept making and even worked with me to save me money. Mike the project manager was great to work with as was Lanie the scheduler. They were always kind and respectful any time I had a question or concern. Finally, I can't say enough about the installers. Ben, Steve, and Bobby were a pleasure to work with. Their skill level is truly amazing. They worked together so well, and got the entire job done in 2 days. They kept the mess to a minimum and thoroughly cleaned up when the job was completed. It was freezing cold out the entire time and the snow was relentless; however, the weather conditions did not stop them. They worked fast and smart and I can't sing their praises enough. If you are looking for beautiful, quality windows as well as a professional team to guide you through the process, I feel you won't go wrong with this company."

"On phone, I mentioned high price for a small deck/ramp. Friends who know about staining said the price was high. Mr. Clymer said, "well then, have them do the job!" I went ahead and agreed to his doing the staining. It looked poorly done. Later on a friend applied a second coat. These people might do other work well, but this was not a good experience."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Paw Paw, WV

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
